Trans guys (TIMs) and gals (TIFs) are rapidly becoming a part of the background noise with a speed that we haven't seen matched by any other alphabet group.

That's because TIMs and TIFs are the greatest gift to patriarchy in a long time. Gender roles are reinforced and real homosexuality is lessened. Men get into women's spaces and get to dominate everything -- even what women had set aside for themselves.

And while that is most likely a good thing for the ones that are actually gender dysphoric,

There is no trutrans. There are dysphoric people, but there is no such thing as a "male-bodied woman" or a "man trapped in a woman's body", despite how dysphoric said man may be about his male body. Jonathan Willoughby, Blair White, and David Hayton are all men -- not women. They cannot be women, and acceptance of the fact that some men can become women undermines everything GC feminism has fought for.

I guess I just feel a little sad for this poor lost soul.

He's not a poor lost soul; he is a misogynist who chooses to live in a way that insults women by reducing them to stereotypes. He could detransition and live as a GNC man or seek help for his fetish, but he refuses to. Being trans-identified is a choice.

Turns out this sharp increase started once police had to start listing offenders as their preferred sex and increased again once they started letting male prisoners self-identify as women and go to women's prison.

I think it points to the fact that TRAs are a basically like astroturf groups and are like maybe an astroturf group out for hire showing up when ever those in power need to tamp down the disorganized masses from starting to organize. It's like a signal to all the woke NPCs out there to be against their own bodily sovereignty and freedom. In the same way that my not believing TWAW is a fake danger to them, a nonvaccinated truck is a fake danger to anyone else. The underlying set of lies the big lie ( be it TWAW or how our immune systems work) is built on is protected by them chanting their mantras. The pavlovian aspects of this is noteworthy. Their chants have nothing to do with the truckers, but the reflex it is meant to stimulate in the faithful has everything to do with mass manipulation.

Wow, this went to s/All? That's excellent! I hope it draws more people here.

I joined Saidit for gender-critical and LGBdroptheT discussions. I'm a detransitioner, so I am very familiar with the cult mentality of the trans movement and its complete denial of science and writing off all the haters as "TERFs". When I stepped outside gender ideology, I got to see just how much was wrong with it. Even when I was a transitioner, I knew something was wrong with the beliefs on gender, but I didn't criticize it. Then I realized how many bad agents there were within the trans movement that were advocating for things like trans-identified males in women's washrooms and prisons just to rape women. I also realized just how misogynistic it was as well. This article (https://4w.pub/trans-child-rapist-complains-about-difficult-jail-sentence/) is a prime example of this, as is Bardfinn (the trans-identified Reddit powermod, wife beater, and deadbeat dad who played a key role in using child porn to silence feminists).

However, with that said, I'm also in favour of treating everyone fairly, including support of LGBT+ rights, women's rights, men's rights, children's rights, etc. etc. etc.

Yes, discipline and healthy influences are good. And the reason most of these kids are identifying as trans is because of unhealthy influences -- be it homophobia, anime memes, mental illness, or strange Tiktoks. And parents are letting this happen because it's "woke" and because they'll get in trouble from the corrupted school boards and woke teachers if they don't comply.

I was thinking that a hermaphrodite calls into question whether you can define a 'female' as anyone having certain female sex organs.

Oh, yes without a doubt that would. I guess my belief that there are not human hermaphrodites was rolled into what I was saying there (in my own head anyway, where many things are all rolled up, in a ball, in the corner of my mind, hoping to be left alone by my mind)

As for seahorses, I'd just assume leave them and clownfish (and all the projecting of what individual cells might do onto what fully grown humans can do) to the anime-avatar crowd.

The link is interesting, I would have to do a bit of work to makes full sense of all of it, but the bulk of what I think interests us in this quote from it: "Histologically the testicular tissue was described to be immature and only twice was spermatogenesis reported while the ovarian portion often appeared normal. This coincides with 21 pregnancies reported in ten true hermaphrodites while only one true hermaphrodite apparently has fathered a child."

My attention is drawn to the phrase "often appeared normal". One question off the top of my head is this: does "spermatogenesis" mean producing fully functioning sperm, or can it include something short of that? The reason for the question is just if they are addressing what we'd think to address or if they have other wider criteria they are wrestling with. I don't know from reading it that the ones who bore children can also father them (or just appear to be able to) or if the ones who can father them can also bear them. I guess another quick off the top of my head question is just: what do these bits look like? Would someone look at them and say "yeah, that's a normal enough looking bit" or would one of the group of bits look like ... well something to avoid. Since male bits do not take up as much room as female bits and our exterior, just the whole placement seems problematic and the hormone system that drives them ... well it gets real complicated. But if they these individuals really have dually functioning bits, and not just what appears to be both sets of bits where only one actually functions, matters.

Finally, and taking a step back from these cases: how far back in history do reliably documented cases of fully function (and dually functioning?) hermaphrodites go, and what causes it? Causes matter. If the cause is environmental, as the book from the 90s called Our Stolen Future details (and they keep a website that was updated till maybe 2006 and they direct people to environmental health news for more recent info) we are messing with our endocrine systems with the chemicals we use everyday.

But, the possibility of a fully functioning (but it must be dually functioning for it to really matter) hermaphrodite has little to do with the trans debate, and only impacts our side if we take up the challenge others refuse. We can define what something is based on some criteria. Can we define everything? the answers can only ever be "that remains to be seen", or "no". That is not a weakness of a GC point of view, it is a reality of everything. The test is not if we can define everything, but if our world view explains things better and more usefully than another world view. If there are hermaphrodites that break our definition, that only matters if their world view can make better useful sense of the world while dealing with hermaphrodites better. It is not enough to say "here's the gap in your knowledge" or "here's where you're wrong", this is true for GC, economics, social organization and everything. It is easy to throw stones and complain, easy to make empty promises of solving a problem where everyone just assumes everything around that problem wont' go to hell in a hand basket while some aspect of that problem is addressed. We don't have to concede thing if we can't accommodate this problem in a way that satisfies us (and we don't need to satisfy critics).

The other thing is that we can define men and women easily, hermaphrodites do not break this system and do not suffer from their nature because of our categories. A hermaphrodite in Africa does not justify a guy at an Ivy league school swimming on the women's team and creeping in their lockers. The hermaphrodite does not make a man in a dress a woman. It is a red herring with regard to gender, as it has everything to do with sex. That sex is immutable is not changed by a hermaphrodite, they were born that way and did not change from one to the other-- immutable.

Never heard of this particular disorder. I admit this may make things more complicated than what I read in a biology textbook.

You also make a point about not seeing chromosomes, we had a definition of gender before we even knew chromosomes existed.

but I don't think hermaphroditism is a real thing at all.

Not sure of the prevalence in humans, but it seems to at least exist in the medical literature. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/bf02000779

How does he leave room for any such abnormalities? I'm not doubting you, but I want to be better equipped and hope to find a way to address them within this kind of approach.

I was thinking that a hermaphrodite calls into question whether you can define a 'female' as anyone having certain female sex organs.

Also somewhat unrelated to humans, but in sea-horses the males are the ones that bear the children. So again, I think this somewhat complicates such a biological argument, although it is true that this is certainly not the case in humans.

I guess this seems like it should be easier to define objectively than it is

I don't see how it leaves room for either, but I don't think hermaphroditism is a real thing at all. Other abnormalities is pretty broad and I can't claim familiarity with the details of many. Colin Wright has written a lot about these types of things, but they don't make for easy conversational refutations.

The tras would counter the chromosome thing with the fact that we do not see chromosomes, and we don't. Plus, aren't there some kind of people who appear to have female genitals but have some We see the sum of all the factors and more importantly we see and each individual with a functioning body knows, what their form is built for, what role their body is meant to serve in the order of things. I think this approach gives us a great tool to have in dealing with these issues.

How does he leave room for any such abnormalities? I'm not doubting you, but I want to be better equipped and hope to find a way to address them within this kind of approach.

I did find this, "46,XX testicular disorder of sex development is a condition in which a person with two X chromosomes (which is normally found in females) has a male appearance." So, I'll have think on this a bit. https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/399/46xx-testicular-disorder-of-sex-development

Not at all. Neither I nor a gametes-based point of view disagree with GC, in practice. There's just a theoretical niggle.

My point is that if MTFs found a way to transform their bodies to the extent that they do produce ova, that would not be enough to get them recognized as "truly women" by GC feminists. Hence, GC isn't actually using gametes as a philosophical basis.

Only from an abstract, ivory-tower point of view. GC is at the barricades, not the ivory tower. They just feel smug that the ivory tower agrees with them and only an unlikely medical breakthrough can change that.

What actually matters is that sexual offenders are empirically really rare among the people GC recognizes as female. They are empirically not so rare among the people TRAs recognize as female. So segregation by sex means a great benefit to females, but only if the GC definition is in effect.

A naive observer might think the "not our crimes" side of GC, where really embarrassing behaviour by MTFs is held up to ridicule, is a form of teasing the other side. But it's actually closer to the meat of the argument than any teasing of MTFs about their inability to get pregnant.

8 minutes in and this is a great video. Thanks for sharing this.

Just finished it. Wow, the title is misleading because it is about so much more. The title is a small aspect of the video, imho. It's about mental health, grooming, childhood trauma, and how these are exploited by bad actors on a societal scale. It really is a great video, I have to watch more of this guy's stuff.

That's never been demonstrated, and is unlikely to be.

I inwardly groan whenever a friend of GC talks about "chromosomal sex", since there are legitimate intersex conditions where the subject, without any surgery, looks completely male or female opposite to what their karyotype would suggest. In some cases, they may not realize until they find they are infertile, or a screening test flags them as the other sex. (Actually, since true hermaphroditism in a mammal appears to be impossible, such people account for almost all genuine human intersex.)

However, in this case, chromosomes do matter a lot.

Getting sperm out of an XX stem cell is hopeless, because there are a couple vital genes for sperm production that are only found on the Y chromosome.

There's no equally obvious reason why, but in practice intersex people who are XY but with the critical "testis determining factor" gene absent from their Y don't produce eggs. The development of their primordial gonads into testes never happens, but somehow they don't turn into ovaries either. The result is a body that appears mostly female but won't naturally undergo puberty. (While they take hormones like an MTF, unlike an MTF they do have a womb that can be made to work, but only as a surrogate to someone else's fertilized egg.)

Also, gametes aren't really that important. It's just something GC likes to tease transsexuals about, and for the moment a simple rule to tell COINing from a legitimate intersex confusion (ie: if you produce one sex's gametes, or would if medical interventions you chose to undergo hadn't happened, then you aren't intersex enough to protest your assignment.).

The important thing is that long before any transsexual actually gets near to crossing the gamete hurdle (such as if we invent brain transplants), GC will write new rules.

I have no dog in the trans thing and never said I was TG or TS. I make no demands other than to NOT be included in their community.

I used cis correctly. MtF Transsexuals are a subset of cisgender women, and "MtF" transgender is simply a type of men. TS women don't want to be housed with TGs anymore than other women, and should not be forced to do so. A TS's rights come from the vagina and XX chromosomes they were supposed to be born with. MtF TGs were supposed to have their penises and live as the MEN that they are.

It is not dismissive to refer to the MtF transgender men in dresses as what they are, men in dresses and those living fetishes. MtF TSs ARE women, "MtF" transgenders are men. Transsexuals would have more rights overnight if every non-op transgender were rounded up and imprisoned.

And no, I never used actually getting the surgery as a basis, but an inherently feminine nature and the DESIRE to get the surgery based on how the brain is wired before birth. Whether they actually get surgery or not (aging and poverty are factors). I can walk into any room and tell TSs from TGs without any effort. Folks should only be allowed to transition if there is a true need there, and not simply a dress-up game, fetish, or ANY sexual motivation. A paraphilic need is not a gender identity. Desiring to dress up to appropriate women and lord over them is not a gender identity. There are only 2 valid gender identities.

Anyway, please enjoy your day. I believe we have talked this to the end.

Where did I say I have a problem with that specifically?

Why the need for "specifically"? So you can weasel out of what you've already said and make it tough to pin down what you're saying (typical "trans" bad-faith arguing and bad reasoning)

But here is where you say it specifically, in a sentence soon after your bad question.

transsexual women will lose their right to stay in women's shelters, even those who previously were allowed to with no problems, all because of guys who want to play dress-up.

So, rather than be happy that transgender people get their own shelters, you worry that you will be tossed in with them. You make the same demand they make, access to women's spaces. You could make your own shelter, for transsexuals. But no, because you make the same demand the AGPs/transgenders/transtrenders/perpetually-masturbating-porn-addicts-in-dresses make: access to women's spaces and to colonize womanhood.

Also, it is amazingly dismissive of you to say they only want to play dress up but what you want to do is not exactly the same thing, especially if you are not using sex-removing and opposite sex facsimile creating surgeries as THE defining characteristic for transsexuals. You're basically saying 'we had a good thing going until Judith Butler came a long'

Also, your use of the "cis" thing is bullshit. There is no such thing. For all but like 0.04% of the population there are only men and women, and no one measures up to any standard besides the most minimal one of what genitals one has.

Yes. Some mothers do hang onto the placenta for health benefits. They might dry it out and consume bits of it at a time to help with post-pregnancy symptoms.

And the rhetorical questions I asked, yes, your response seems reasonable. If all is ideal, that sort of affection would be kept private regardless of orientation.

And what you have found just indicates that I need to do more research as well. That's the problem with science, the more you think you know, the more you realize that you don't know. Even Einstein allegedly said something similar. "The secret to my genius is knowing what I'm retarded at," or something.

My screen name comes from my desire to write or at least imagine about aliens. So literal spots, though I'm not redheaded nor a spotted extraterrestrial. I've used "Purple Lady" and similar in the past. That evolved into a fictional narrative over time starting from there. Why would a lady be purple? Maybe she's an alien. If she's a space alien, maybe she has a homeland on some other planet. And if there's a place with other purple people, maybe they have enemies. Maybe the enemies are Green. Not sure if Green Guys have bigger replication tentacles or not or if that's just a myth. :-) And I've tried to think out how I could write an ET story that is somewhat like US history. Use allegories to try to discuss topics that cancel culture has forced folks to not discuss. The Right could use a person such as Rod Serling to counter what's been promoted for so long. But since the Left has so much traction, fiction would be a safer place to start. If kids can read about "Heather's Two Mommies" and "Daddy's Roommate," why not read about issues that more likely will affect them such as losing freedoms and the majority letting a minority collective bully them into losing rights, losing jobs, and being unlikely to achieve the American Dream that so many hear about, but which is more elusive than the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy? And in drama or movie form, such a show could move past Black/White identity issues and Political Correctness. If you have believable Purple, Green, and Spotted characters, nobody should be able to tell or care whether the actors are Black, White, Asian, or actually Green, Purple, Blue, etc.

Where did I say I have a problem with that specifically? I was saying that the problem (not mine, but one that inherently exists) is that in the past, transsexuals were seen mostly on par with cisgender. But since that community and the media has done nothing but lie and claim that TSs and TG are the same, as soon as such shelters open up, transsexual women will lose their right to stay in women's shelters, even those who previously were allowed to with no problems, all because of guys who want to play dress-up. So the TSs would be forced to stay with the guys in drag who love their penises, the sense of male power they give, and who actively use them. So TSs would be robbed of what is ideal for them and given something bastardized back. "Sorry our lost your right to be accepted and treated as a 'real woman,' but don't feel bad, you can still have rights in society as a male pervert who lives as a woman for reasons of insanity or perversion and be housed with them."

Those are the same issues that I'd have with any 3rd-sex designation. TSs who have worked hard to conform, pass, blend in, and share the values of greater society will always lose with such a proposition. Anything that sounds good in this is nearly always a Damocles sword. When TGs gain rights (not earn them, but bully society into begrudgingly giving them out of fear), transsexual folks will nearly always lose because it will cause society to see them as more "other" than less and force a new kind of segregation. I've figured that with the restroom laws in a few US states, making a federal law to require that places have 3 restrooms would be good. But, then I thought through the harm that would cause. TS women who currently use the ladies' room without consequence will likely face being outed, bullied into using the trans restroom, and perhaps face violence if they don't. Shoot, this is already bad enough where folks (the ones screaming that their lives matter) have been reported attacking TS women at places like McDonald's and other ghetto-seeming fast-food places for using the restroom that most closely matches who they are.

Women born wrongly in male bodies (transsexuals) DO have a biological need to live as the gender that matches the biology of their brain, just like natal female women. Male-born transgender folks who merely live as women for sexual, fetish, delusional or egotistical reasons don't. Transsexualism is inborn, transgender isn't. A transsexual woman's rights come inherently from the vagina and XX chromosomes that she was supposed to have been born with all along. And what "MtF" TGs think are "rights" comes from their male privilege, bullying, and intimidation. When you live a lie, the only way you can defend it is by instilling fear in others. Truth, on the other hand, needs no emotional defense.

And yeah, we should give food, clothing, and shelter to folks more likely to be sexual predators. Get them on their feet so they can harm women (TS or otherwise). /s Though yes, Jesus did say to love thy enemies, and other religious figures of other faiths have said similar. And even in war, more primitive cultures had the decency to have a ceasefire at night. That gave opponents time to eat, gather their dead, and sleep.

We buried ours and planted a tree over it, but the claim was that around 3% were consumed by their human mothers at the time.

What would you rather a child see? What looks like a man and what looks like a woman kissing? Or what looks like two men or two women kissing?

This is too close to our political election reality for comfort, but my choice in both cases is neither.

"Speaking of biochemistry," I'm out of my league on this topic, and aren't knowledgeable enough to play one on the internet, but the info in your comment is fascinating. Okay, maybe just really interesting, but would read and research again.

https://www.britannica.com/science/estrogen

That link is a rich source of bio-sciency words, and a moderately detailed description of the conversion of progesterone to the main estrogens, estradiol, and estrone. I'm not seeing a reference to the DHEA precursor.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/biochemistry-genetics-and-molecular-biology/dehydroepiandrosterone

DHEA is synthesized from pregnenolone and is further metabolized to androstenedione, testosterone, and estrogens.

My eyes are beginning to glaze over a bit. Is DHEA not directly produced in the ovaries, but also assembled in the blood?

Anyway, thanks loads for the info dump. Out of curiosity, is your username a reference to 'there she is!', or to actual spots? Also, do you write in some capacity about this?

This is more intellectual for now. I am about discussing and learning for learning's sake.

So you are taking a post about giving transgender people their own shelters and using it to be about discussing and learning for learning's sake, but you started of having a problem with the shelters-- do I have that right? You started off declaring a problem, now you're like "I'm here to share wisdom". I think you are changing the subject or moving the goal posts because your initial position is untenable.

Your contention that males who either claim or are transsexual (and I dont' think you've defined this clearly-- what a surprise? Nah, typical) are born with a feminine neurology is not self-evident, it is also untenable. How is a neurology feminine or masculine? IF, as we always have and always will, define men and women according to the potential reproductive role their genitals have, then a male you call a transsexual is still a man. Effeminate men are not women. Feminine neurology does not exist.

Transsexuals do not have any biological need to live as the GENDER??? they should have been all along-- the idea is ridiculous. Your biological needs are no different than anyone else's, male or female: eat, sleep, shelter in the forms of clothing and a home (cave, tree house, anything), drinkable water, perhaps other people to keep you sane and to pool labor. That's it. Also, you are using transsexual no differently than the term transgender is used, you're even using gender in terms of what you think a transsexual's needs are.

Good luck with all that.

Actually, for your first point, I see no real need for intervention to stop it beyond maybe some prenatal prevention. I think that is more due to chemical exposure in the womb due to the use of certain drugs. I suspect DES, and that was banned in 1970, with probably some use extending past that. I also wonder if drugs like finasteride could cause some mishaps such as intersex. So that could be why there may have been an uptick in CAIS cases. I don't know what taking Tamoxifen while pregnant could cause. And I don't know what increased cortisol levels during pregnancy could cause (whether from stress or cortico-adrenal steroids). Those represent 4 possible effects on sex hormones. Increasing estrogen (synthetic estrogen), decreasing estrogen (Tamoxifen), increasing androgens (steroids) or blocking androgens (Finasteride/Dutasteride).

Speaking of biochemistry, I wondered for a long time how estrogen can increase during pregnancy with no ill effects, but taking estrogens could result in miscarriage or harm to the fetus. Well, there are many estrogen-class hormones. So what is available to take as a drug includes horse-derived estrogen (such as in Premarin -- and is stronger than estradiol), estradiol (strongest human estrogen), estrone (estrogen created in the human bloodstream that can convert to estradiol or estriol), and rarely estriol (one of the weaker human estrogens). During pregnancy, the placenta creates large amounts of estriol. That would prevent hot flashes and may cause some breast changes to help prepare for lactation, but would likely not affect a fetus.

Something that shocked me to learn is that the ovaries don't actually produce estrogen as we may have learned in primary school. It seems that what they produce are the precursors such as DHEA and the aromatase enzyme. So estrogen is actually assembled in the blood. That approach prevents the "first pass problem" which I might as well explain.

I've also wondered why those taking oral estrogen supplements might be more likely to have strokes, pulmonary embolism, heart attacks, or liver problems, while women in their childbearing years face these conditions less. Now, there are estrogen receptors in the liver on the portal side (yes, male and female) that increase the stickiness of the blood. So women not taking estrogen and maybe those using estrogen patches or injections would be bypassing those receptors. That begs the question as to why most mammals have them. Non-human female mammals eat the placenta after giving birth. There are several reasons for this. They are likely physically drained and hungry after giving birth, so this helps protein levels. Plus, some mammals such as dogs will eat anything in the vicinity of their young that gives off an odor. That way, they're less likely to attract predators that may eat their young. That's also partly why dogs eat feces. (Some may also have eating disorders such as pica, they acquired a taste for it, or it could be because their sense of smell is so strong with very good discrimination/filtering that they can detect whatever that whoever had eaten previously.) Now, the health benefit of eating afterbirth would be that it could help stop hemorrhaging. Other mammals may not always have access to a doctor, paramedic, or midwife, so survival could be a challenge. So nature provided a way to get temporary relief of excessive bleeding from childbirth. They eat the placenta and the liver produces more clotting factors. That mechanism is not intended to be used regularly. It's more for emergency use. So those who take oral estrogen would need to avoid smoking, preferably avoid alcohol (while it could reduce clots, it could also harm the liver), and monitor their blood pressure. Low-dose aspirin is an option, but that carries its own risks.

Plus (back on topic), genetically speaking, transsexuals would be "suicide cases." Anyone who has their gonads removed will not be adding to the gene pool. Many transgender and gender-fluid folks keep their gonads. So they could pass on their genes.

I also see that much smaller crowd as less subversive. What would you rather a child see? What looks like a man and what looks like a woman kissing? Or what looks like two men or two women kissing? Or even what looks like a crossdressed man and another man kissing? (I imagine that is the order that things would extend down the "public level of disgust pyramid" if such a chart existed.) "Classic transsexuals" tend to want to conform to the gender binary and are not creating new genders.

Fair questions. It is hard to measure in a quantitative sense. It is more like what the Supreme Court justice said about pornography. "I can't tell you what pornography is, but I know what it is when I see it."

There is no genetic test for this since it has more to do with how the brain has formed while in the womb. It is something you'd have to observe in a child that is young and see their patterns over a lifetime. Watch how they manage conflict, what types of play they prefer, whether they are more into skill-based games or relationship-based games, see if they make better nurturers or providers, and natural mannerisms and affect, etc.

As for TGs, generally, that would emerge more in adolescence when sexuality emerges (reemerges if you buy into Freud). Transsexualism tends to emerge more during or before the "latency" stage of childhood development.

We have to distinguish between innate stuff and more cultural stuff. TS and TG have differing philosophies here. TSs know that their nature and "core" is the "other" already. So they'd want to fix the body to match who they already are, and tend to let the cultural side fall into place naturally. TGs don't always see their identity as being at odds with their bodies and might never change that ("I can still be a woman with a penis since man and woman are arbitrary social constructs"), and they put their focus on presentation only. The activism styles and needs are different. TSs need full conformity to the other sex and see any issues in being accepted as more their own personal fault or that of their body. TGs tend to operate more as a community to themselves, don't really care about conforming ("just be yourself"), and see issues in being accepted as being society's fault. One tries to change themselves and the other tries to change everyone else.

And the above is just a rule of thumb. It's more a collection of profiles, and they must be taken with a grain of salt. The issue I see a lot in some is what I call the "potato problem." Everyone knows what an ideal potato looks like, and everyone knows what a completely rotten potato looks like. But it is harder to judge what is between. How many green spots are acceptable? What is an excessive number of "eyes?" Are tool marks allowed (like gouges from a shovel or pitchfork)? What about mild "blisters," bruises, or scrapes? So it is more of a subjective, intuitive art form than an exact science. I can usually tell the 2 apart, and others have said the same to me. I've run into transsexual folks (even those who reverted for whatever reason) who I could just feel the "girliness" oozing off of them, and I've had to refrain from wanting to stroke their hair. And then there were some that I could just read them right away, and while some of that pertains to their skill, I also notice the pattern of their voices (regardless of pitch), their demeanor, how they negotiate space (eg., "manspreading"), the topics they discuss ("I just got a new car," vs., "How is Emily, I haven't seen her, is she okay?"), the energy they give off (like defensive, belligerent, angry, territorial, detached), etc.

This is more intellectual for now. I am about discussing and learning for learning's sake.

Transsexual women were born with a feminine neurology, nature, etc. It is self-evident from early in life (unless it is beaten out of them). It is inborn and used to be the result of mothers taking DES or other things during pregnancy. It is not the same as the political or sexually-motivated choice to become transgender and get attention or be used as an excuse to practice unsavory things.

In short, I consider transsexual women to be women and transgender "women" to be men (except for the transsexuals who were propagandized to think transgender is just the modern name for it). So transsexual women should not have to put up with men in dresses being housed with them any more than other women. Since MtF TS women have the same natures and needs as other women, and MtF TGs have needs that are closer to those of men, TS women will face just as much abuse from TGs as natal women.

I never said I had a problem with transgender folks having their own community. The problem is that it would discriminate against and out fully-transitioned transsexual women who have fully assimilated to where nobody can tell (the correct end goal for transsexualism). They would be forced to give up what they already have now in society to placate men in dresses who enjoy keeping and using intact male genitalia. Once TG shelters are set up, that will dehumanize transsexual women who are fully accepted as women and have worked hard to earn the SAME treatment as women without distinction. Each time TGs make advances, it is nearly always at the expense of TSs. TS women are women, but society is seeing that less and less because of recreational and fetish-driven TGs and the press and LGBTs ripping TSs out of the cisgendder place they've worked hard to earn and placing them in a ghetto with men in drag who would rape them if they had a chance. Once TG centers open, TSs WILL be forced to go there.

I've heard of this happening even in "accepting and affirming" churches in the US. Here was a transsexual woman who was attending a church and accepted as fully female (end goal for TSism). Then an LGBT ministry started in that same church. Then someone started a lie calling her transgender and no one treated her the same since then and she lost all respect from others in the mainstream community (the only one she cared about) overnight. She was told that she couldn't speak to the main pastor anymore and had to speak to the LGBT pastor. So she couldn't go to that church anymore without being outed since she was forced to demean herself by being with those with absolutely nothing in common with her and denied access to those with the same type of brain, nature, needs, etc., as she had.

How do you think an arbitrary woman would feel if she were told she was not like other women and had to be housed with men in drag who are statistically more likely to rape her? That is almost like taking a monkey and painting them green. The other monkeys who previously befriended them will see them as "other" and likely gang up on them and kill them. Bees react similarly if the queen were to die and a new queen were to try to replace them. That is why when beekeepers must change the queen, that they put her in a protective "cage" until the hive accepts the fact that she is there. Even rodents will kill rodents of other species. Rats will eat mice.

Transsexuals have the biological need to live as the gender they should have been all along. It is optional for anyone else. And they have the need to not be outed or have their condition known. That is just as private (HIPAA-level) as getting an abortion, medical records, having an STD, etc., and is nobody's business beyond those in an intimate physical relationship with them or a therapeutic or legal relationship. Transsexuals are the most healthy when nobody knows that they have that condition. And the transgender movement has not done anything beneficial for transsexuals, only harmed them.

And we should likely let my involvement in this topic die a natural death. I had fun chatting with you.

If all cells can turn into sperm and egg, why doesn't that mean everyone is both men and women at the same time? by UwUUwU in GenderCriticalGuys

How are you defining men and women? Men: the group of humans whose genitals serve the role of providing sperm (small mobile gametes) needed in sexual reproduction. Women: the group of humans whose genitals serve the roles of producing eggs (large immobile gametes), receiving the small mobile gametes, and gestation.

Cells reproduce differently. Are cells humans, or are some cells part of humans? Do you acknowledge the difference, or do you like being lost in the smoke of your own ignorance?

I have to wonder what is motivating your comments here. The post is about a wonder thing: shelters for transgender people. If you want shelters for transsexual people, then that would be a wonderful project for you to get involved in. I don't really get a sense from what you're typing of that being what you want, but I don't know what you want. Do you want us to pretend along with men who insist they are women? But if we do that, how will that impact these shelters who serve such an oppressed but still wonderfully stunning and brave community?

What is your problem with creating a shelter for this community? Is it jealousy that there are not shelters for transexuals? You've typed so much about so many things, but little of it had anything to do with this topic really. Maybe you just need to vent and get somethings off your chest, if so I hope you have found satisfaction.

There is a huge difference from those who innocently know from age 4 that they were trapped in the wrong body, and those who lie about knowing from this early on.

Is there? How can I measure this huge difference? Is it one huge difference, or huge differences? Are they really just presumed differences, or supposed differences, or claimed differences?

I will address what I think is the main point of your essays, or what they are missing might be a better way to describe it, in a reply to a different comment.

It is possible to be born with a female brain and a male body.

If I were say it seems plausible that your claim is not entirely impossible, physically transsexualizing still should not be accepted or tolerated in human society. This is not the only 'cleanup on aisle earth' that needs attention, but it's in the upper part of the list.

then there were the less than savory folks in-between

Definitely close to the top. I'm sad to see our species being destroyed, but that it's been so easy to do so is even more disheartening.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to you also. We can be thankful that we've at least existed, even if the situation is not ideal. o/

I never said they were. There is a huge difference from those who innocently know from age 4 that they were trapped in the wrong body, and those who lie about knowing from this early on.

My point is since TS women have personalities, natures, etc., of other women, they are harmed just as much by male-born transgenders who lie to the world every time they dress up and appropriate women of all sorts (cis and MtF TS).

I knew a preop, non-transitioned TS woman who was living in male mode and allowed the wife to batter them for so long. Had they had a male nature, they would have never put up with that, despite what they were born with. So a male-to-female who hadn't come out was battered, bullied, and gaslighted by a female partner. If they had a male nature, they likely would have been the batterer or at least left much sooner. Many women may hate men, but what they hate more than that is a "weak" man.

Anyway, I think we talked this to the end. Thank you for chatting with me. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

I used to host/moderate online spaces for the lesser-common transsexuals, and male-born non-op transgender folks would constantly invade, try to promote gay propaganda, etc. I eventually grew tired of that. I tried different schemes such as a layered approach. Have a vetting group and then the real group. Some felt misled/tricked by that. And when I thought I had a good core group, I learned things about them that I didn't like.

One pattern I noticed was that for the fetish crowd I kept trying to keep out, they usually had more than one fetish. So it was no surprise to see transfolk also attempt to transition their race or have apotemnophilia (disability fetish). There are trans folks and trans-ethnic folks who may seem reasonable. That is their identity. But then there are those for whom sex is their identity and these valid communities were there for them to exploit and use as a means to seeking "more and better sex." And that strategy rarely works ("porn creep"), since things must become more and more extreme and old arousal methods stop working. It is like the one "rule" -- "If it exists, there is porn of it."

No mental malfunction at all. It is possible to be born with a female brain and a male body. Anyone who says otherwise is either ignorant or not telling the truth.

Transsexualism is a variation that occurs in the womb. True transsexuals are more likely to be Conservative and all since they see their body as the problem and seek to fix it and conform. And they are quite rare overall, since many who claim to be that are mere garden-variety transgender instead, and they have been known to lie, either to validate themselves or as part of a political ploy, much like crisis actors. It was simpler to sort out in the '80s since one was only transsexual (needing to go all the way with surgery) or a crossdresser/transvestite. At least the crossdressers knew they were men, but they made it harder on transsexuals. But then there were the less than savory folks in-between who were like, "Not only am I am woman, I am a woman with a penis that I will keep and use as a man would forever." Then by 2000, this group hijacked the entire thing.

So transsexualism is more organic while transgender follows the pattern you mention. And oftentimes, things were never "just fine." They just lied, hid, and covered it. As for why authentic transsexualism is rare these days may relate to the cause. Before 1970, there was a drug called DES that was given to pregnant women. It is a long-lasting synthetic estrogen chemical. We've all heard about DES causing breast cancer in daughters and granddaughters of women who took it. That is just the tip of the iceberg. It also caused penile deformities in men and possibly transsexualism, as the brain becomes more feminized in the womb.

Transgender isn't usually organic in nature. As with homosexuality, I see it as possibly having many etiologies that differ. For instance, most "gay genes" tend to be only partial explanations. One promising lead to scientists turned out to be something else entirely. They realized it was not a gay gene when all gay folks in their sample didn't have it, and some of the heterosexual control subjects did. So much for that, though someone might try to argue that some folks think they are gay when they are not and that some "heterosexual" folks are lying. But in this case, researchers found something interesting that all with the gene did share. They seemed to be more likely to dye their hair, get tattoos, or take on an IDGAF attitude. So while that was not a gay gene, it did make it easier to be gay and survive well into adulthood. Since if you don't care what others think, you'd be less likely to become suicidally depressed. And of course, there is rape trauma during early development, and the trauma of parents divorcing, and sometimes just being different and desperately looking for an explanation, and everyone tells you that you must be gay. Then one proceeds in that direction and becomes addicted to the associated behaviors. They were just looking for a place to belong that understood them, and others took advantage of that.

Happy Thanksgiving

Transsexual women have needs closer to regular women, transgenders, not so much. That is why transsexual folks take great pains to try to hide their condition, to give others the luxury of not knowing and being treated the same. Most who call themselves transgender never get the surgery and are all "out and proud."

I don't see any of what I said as irrelevant though. We shouldn't let the men who claim to be transgender do the same things to MtF transsexual women that they do other women. A person who fully conforms to (or at least is fully committed to trying) a natal female in personality, needs, thought strategies, etc., and feels their body is an error, they are not the same as men in drag lying and pretending to be women for sexually-motivated, delusional, trivial, or criminal reasons.

If we don't want what some may consider "live penis monsters" in with natal women, and that is a noble goal, then I don't see why we should subject TS women who attempt to fit into mainstream living, who are not activists, who don't necessarily support LGBT in with that crap either.

And don't bother trying to research differences on these, since many use them interchangeably, and there seems to be a campaign to destroy TS influences in favor of TG ones.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

felt trapped in the wrong body

This is an example of the malfunction. It's blatant mental illness, where their software isn't working correctly. It has nothing to do with 'their body'. It's their mind going off the rails, just as paranoid schizophrenics are labeled for their own particular malfunction.

We have a couple here on saidit, although only one has 'come out' as a religious conservative.

Whether 'transgender' or 'transsexual', it's nothing more than malfunction or mental illness. To be fair, many were working just fine before their teachers, parents, or others began warping their minds to the point they finally broke.

anything could be seen as bigoted by some, but accepting the accusation uncritically leads people to be neurotics.

I don't know if it addresses the differences between transexuals and transgenders, it seems to only address transgender. I don't know why it matters. It addresses transgenders who need shelters. We know trans people have different needs, and that transwomen have different needs than actual women, so this solution address those needs. That it avoids feeding into the desires of those with autogynephilia also seems on point because the goal is SHELTER not larping. For example, if you need 500 channels on your tv then you do not need shelter but instead you need a house or apartment and an ability to get your cable bill paid for, or just internet access if you're not old.

The term actual women is the best term available, and any other term I've seen used is very biased and bigoted and filled with presumptions about the attitudes and behaviors actual women as a contrast with what you might call other kinds of women.

As for the rest of your comment, it's all irrelevant. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, most in their right mind realize that gender identity exists and is distinct from sex. There are genuine transsexuals who truly felt trapped in the wrong body all their life before transition. They are not the same as the mentally ill men in drag who dress up as women while keeping and using a fully functioning penis. They are the reason why actual transsexuals have lost rights that they've had in America since the '50s.

Really, I think transgenders were created to erase transsexuals and their influences, since genuine transsexuals are more likely to be hyper-religious, conservative, and even homophobic or White nationalists.

It's more the belief in 'gender identity' that's a mental illness or malfunction. It's an induced phenomenon, to be sure, but the destructive effects on the mind are real.

In large part, Hitler was elected to cure that problem when they began corrupting German kids.

Thanks. That's not quite what I said.

Gender identity is not a mental illness. It just matches the sex in cis individuals. And gender role is not inherently an illness, since any person will naturally follow the gender role that matches their gender identity when given an opportunity. So it is not an illness to dress as a woman if your body and inner being say you are a woman. And orientation itself is not an illness, only when you have the wrong one for who you were meant to be.

Of the 4, there is sex, and three examples of mental illness and/or malfunction. That list will undoubtedly expand as degeneracy levels increase.

I feel a slight bit of sympathy for kids who weren't smart enough to detect or see through the malice fueling that indoctrination, but their minds are ruined. Hopefully they've been vaxxed too.

That doesn't seem like a good solution overall. The term "actual women" could be seen as bigoted by some.

Plus it doesn't account for the differences between transsexuals and transgender. Transsexuals (postops, and preops who want to be postops) tend to feel they are already the other gender completely and just want to make their lifestyle and body match. So they support the gender binary, and some are even homophobic, right-wing, fundamentalist Christians, etc.

Transgender is more of a political label and social construct that applies to ANYTHING that could be perceived as gender variance, and transsexuals as a whole did not ask to be included. So transgender would include crossdressers, drag queens, non-ops, neo-genderists, non-binary, and those who say "I'm a woman with a penis -- why should I cut it off, you can be a woman with a penis!"

So can you imagine the harm that would happen to actual transsexuals who have known all their life, and either have surgery or will never feel complete until after surgery if they were lumped in with sexually-active men who choose to wear dresses for no real good reason? It will end up the same as what lesbians gripe about with the coercive sex by "women with penises" who want to dismantle their lives or get them canceled for not agreeing to have sex with them.

The sad thing the above tells you is that there is really no fair way to do this. If we make legal and social distinctions between transsexuals who want to transition completely (which includes eventual surgery), who fully identify as the other sex (and not non-binary, "gender variant," etc.) and the rest, which is not PC either, then some of the "rest" will lie to get in. Back to discussing India, they already have a problem with con artists and rapists pretending to be Hijrah, and the majority of those don't even go through the Hijrah ceremony (ritual surgery).

The issue above is similar to other debates. I am pro-life, though, to be honest, I can support abortion if it is only used for reasons such as rape, incest, harm to the mother, or severe deformity of the fetus. But once you limit it to those things, others will lie and say they were raped just to get an abortion. Or like what transsexuals faced before the Transgender Explosion of 2000. The Johns Hopkins study concluded that surgery did not have significant benefits. Yeah, but most of the patients didn't have transsexualism. They were transgender and may benefit from dressing as the other sex, but they didn't have transsexualism. A number were just self-hating men who really didn't want to be women either, but felt society left them no choice.

Or consider the diagnosis criteria for transsexualism in the past. The criteria took social role into account, and that's why the standards varied. Just living as the other sex and expressing discomfort living as a man was enough to qualify males, but females not only had to do that but also express the wish to have a penis. That neglected the possibility of the mess we have now, but I can see the reasoning. There was so much anti-gay sentiment that someone would have to be really serious about thinking they were the other sex if they'd risk shame, humiliation, public ridicule, and violence. Women were also mistreated a lot, so doctors added stating a desire to have a penis to make sure women were not trying to be men to escape discrimination. That's like the "Catch-22" thing in the original usage, where you'd have to be insane to want to fight in Vietnam, so if you say you're crazy to avoid fighting a war, then that is actually a mark of sanity. So a woman trying to be a man to escape persecution shows that she likely doesn't have transsexualism. Society is sick, not her for seeking refuge. You can't perform surgery on one person to cure others.

I've said the same for a long time, but from a conservative angle. That a person can be a male woman or a female man.

I used to say regularly that there are 4 unrelated things at work here.

  • Sex -- Physical characteristics, chromosomes, reproductive role

  • Gender Identity -- Based on an innate difference separate from social influence where someone "just knows" what they are. And it may gravitate to having specific socially-defined interests but it is distinct from that. So someone born with a male body might have the social needs, interests, social strategies of girls because their brain physically differs from their body.

  • Gender Role/Presentation -- This is where stereotypes and society play a role. This gives context to the above. You could feel feminine and think/function as feminine without wearing lipstick, hose, dresses, etc. So this aspect steers the direction that one's gender identity takes. If women stretched their necks here, transwomen would do that too.

  • Sexual orientation -- This is only added for completion. It does not directly tie to the above, though the above give this context. A lot of people confuse gender role with sexual orientation. "If a man puts on lipstick, he's got to be gay, right?" While that might be conceivable, that wouldn't be the only possibility. Maybe he's an actor or a professional drag performer. Maybe he got kissed in the mouth by presumably a woman wearing lipstick. Maybe he picked up lipstick by mistake when trying to apply balm. There is nothing about wearing a dress that means that any person, male or female, has to be compelled to perform fellatio.

The issue I see here is appropriation. Do people who change their racial identity seek permission from the community that they move into?

An issue she brings up is that many don't know the difference between gender identity and sex. So if that is true, and it may be distasteful to say, a person could be a male woman or a female man.

They are the same up until, I think, the 5th week of gestation. At that point, about 3 genes on the Y chromosome become active. That causes a rush of DHT, thus stunting the "Mullerian tubes" and causing the "Wolfian Tubes" to develop. Thus what would have been the clitoris and the urethra start to grow, along with all the other differences. What would have been the labia closes up, etc.

I think it's important to demand the right of women to acknowledge what they see and think, their reactions and the truth of things, be respected and defended. Even if someone thinks "twaw uwu", they have to acknowledge that it is 100% reasonable for a woman, anyone really, to see it like a form of blackface.
