It's easy to mock him but I imagine when he was younger it was genuinely difficult to be the son of the richest man in the world - most people resent you and many others are trying to use you. I can't imagine anyone had sympathy for him at all until he trans-ed which is probably why he did it. He's 20 so although he's an adult his brain is still developing and that's why we see these stupid reactionary statements. This is the perfect example of why kids shouldn't transition - even socially.

It’s not like Elon owes this brat a free indefinite stay in Europe.

Certainly not. And unless he's a citizen I don't know why any country in Europe would want him.

I don't know the rules for all the countries in Europe, but a number of nations across the globe offer wealthy foreign nationals the option to acquire permanent residency and/or citizenship by investment.

Chances are that all of Musk's kids are extremely wealthy because they are beneficiaries of trusts containing lucrative stock in Musk's companies (and maybe other holdings too). Most kids with such trusts gain control of them in their 20s; the usual age is 21. But even if Musk's kids gain control of their trusts later, they will be beneficiaries of the income the trusts generate - and they may be able to invade the trust to get money for major life events and purchases (college & grad school tuition; buying a house; financing a move to a foreign country).

Currently, 7 countries in the EU offer so-called "golden visas" providing permanent residence to wealthy foreign nationals who contribute to the economy of their adopted European country by investing in real estate, government bonds, or businesses. These include Portugal, Spain, Greece and Hungary.

The UK used to provide wealthy foreign nationals with money to invest a way to gain UK residency and be fast-tracked for UK citizenship through its Tier 1 Visa program, which required investing a minimum of £2 million in the UK economy. Under the program, foreign nationals over age 18 with no criminal record for 10 years in any country they previously were legal residents of could get indefinite leave to remain in the UK (aka permanent legal residency) and entry to a path leading to UK citizenship for themselves and their spouses and minor-age children if they invested £2 million in UK government bonds or active UK companies.

The UK's Tier 1 Visa program had step-ups offering permanent residency and a faster way to get citizenship to foreign nationals who invested £5 and £10 million.

The UK closed the Tier 1 Visa program to new applicants in February 2022.

Citizenship by investment, also known as investment migration or economic citizenship, is a process that allows individuals to obtain citizenship by making a significant investment in a country’s economy and infrastructure.

The Tier 1 Investor visa was a specialised investment visa scheme that allowed individuals and their dependents to reside in the UK. This route was closed to new applicants in 2022.

Currently, the UK does not offer a direct citizenship by investment route. However, there are a number of options that could eventually lead to citizenship in the UK.

Innovator Founder Visa: The Innovator Visa is specifically designed for entrepreneurs. By investing a minimum of £50,000 into a business, [and registering/domiciling the business in the UK for tax purposes], holders are eligible to reside in the UK to carry out business activities.

This visa can also be a route towards becoming eligible for ILR [idefinite leave to remain in the UK] status and eventually British citizenship and a British passport.

The initial visa for innovators is valid for a period of three years and four months, with the option to extend it an unlimited number of times, each time for three years.

After being in the UK for three years, innovators and their families can apply for permanent residency and eventually become British passport holders.

To be eligible for a visa extension after three years and four months, maintenance of an investment of £50,000 is mandatory.

Permanent residency is available to foreigners in non-EU countries in Europe including Switzerland and Norway if they invest in the economy or start businesses there.

His dad is South African and I believe his mom is Canadian, so perhaps he has a right of return to the UK or the Netherlands. But also you can immigrate pretty much anywhere if you meet property requirements. Countries are happy to take rich immigrants.

Isn't Musk German? So would his kids have German citizenship?

Elon Musk's father is from South Africa, his mother is from Canada. Elon grew up in SA, and emigrated to Canada as soon as he finished high school. His family lineage is South African by way of the Netherlands, Britain, Switzerland and Canada. Doesn't appear to have any German ancestors. From Wikipedia:

Musk's paternal great-grandmother was a Dutchwoman descended from the Dutch Free Burghers, while one of his maternal great-grandparents came from the Haldimann family in Switzerland.[1]

His paternal grandmother, Cora Amelia, was English from Liverpool and his paternal grandfather Walter Henry J. Musk was South African and a South African army sergeant.[12][13]

His maternal grandparents Winnifred Josephine "Wyn" (Fletcher) and Joshua Norman Haldeman were explorers [from Canada] who lived in South Africa and Canada and searched for the Lost City of the Kalahari.[8] Joshua Haldeman was a former director of Technocracy Incorporated and a political activist who ran for the Canadian Parliament on the Social Credit Party ticket, and headed the Canadian branch of the Technocracy movement.[9][10]

Elon's mother Maye Musk, born 1948, is a longtime professional fashion and advertising model, dietian, author and health educator originally from Saskatchewan, Canada.

Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk,[4] is a South African former electrical and mechanical engineer consultant and property developer,[3] who was involved in emerald mines in the 1980s,[5][6] and was a member of the South African Progressive Federal Party.

His Wikipedia page says that he has citizenship for South Africa, Canada, and the US.

You're probably on to something. Nobody would feel sorry for him if he was just another rich white boy with daddy issues. But now that he's a sad trans-girl, he gets to rake in those oppression tokens

I am betting he has funds for this as a part of Elon's divorce settlement with Justine. Almost certainly his kids with Justine are better protected than those with Grimes or Zillis. Melinda Gates protected her kids during her divorce and so did Mackenzie Scott during her divorce from Bezos. I remember Bill Gates saying his children would only inherit $1M each many years ago, but I am pretty sure Melinda secured large trusts for them in the end.

Could have had an incredible life as a child of Elon, but chose the gender cult instead. Might have been better off if he'd chose Scientology instead. Or hard drugs...

The indoctrination and desire for victim status is strong.

[–]Pennygadget 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And, as a rich white boy, his only pathway to victim status is putting on a dress and claiming to be an oppressed trans-girl

Who knows if Elon has set aside a trust for this ingrate.
