I fully agree. We should treat FtM 'top surgery' the same way we do breast implants - as a cosmetic surgery, and not covered by insurance.

Too bad the puberty blockers have stunted their brains from recognizing the point they're making.

In the comments there is more info, the person was comparing going through the NHS vs people paying out of pocket for implants. Of course if you are using a private surgeon and paying out of pocket there isn't going to be a problem. Its essentially a cosmetic surgery and its ludicrous that someone would think a state run healthcare would act at the speed of private practice when someone is requesting what is essentially a cosmetic procedure.

I don't believe the NHS provides so-called "breast implants" for anyone except in the case of reconstruction surgeries for women who had to have mastectomies because of breast cancer - and perhaps on rare occasion in the case of women whose breasts grew to be drastically different in size and this caused severe distress and practical difficulties.

But my understanding is that even breast cancer patients who've had mastectomies and want reconstruction surgeries from the NHS later on still often have to wait for the second surgeries for years.
