such therapists are ruining lives. Where is the track record of this process? What justifies any change in our understanding of what a man or a woman is? The kid is a kid and acts very often seeking either genuine helpful guidance, or the kid is just being playful. Parents have the responsibility to guide the kid, not defer to "experts" who's bs can not stand up to scrutiny and who have not helped anyone. Only the most desperately and genuinely dismorphic and disphoric people benefit from this, this kid does not sound like it. You must be "humble", so I do not recommend slappying them with the truth, but "humble" means loving truth over all things. You can not let this slide to go along to get along. Do not let these parents accept the lies that "experts" will tell them to get them to nod along in willful stupidity as they hand off to idiots the guidance of the kid that is their responsibility and as such grants them rights over the kid. This is a truly horrible time to raise kids and am besides myself if this is to endure much longer. We are truly screwed as a species, but please either do this kid and those parents the favor of reminding them simple basic truths, help them to know what questions the "experts" will dance around without an answer. Remind them that kids will try on "identities" all the way through their young adulthood and without guidance it will never actually end. There is absolutely nothing permanent about anyone's sense of identity, and if it does not conform to reality then it is truly disordered. Lose a friend over the truth of the matter? what else can you do? You really have no choice.
