I don't have a code, still need to post more. You don't need to be a radical feminist to join, but there does tend to be infighting, and that's coming from someone who's radfem-leaning. I think it's because its userbase is women who are tired of their rights being trampled on all fronts; it's common to be a little more perceptive of the little things.

I'd say the fact that everyone gets their controversial opinions out is a good thing though. There was a thread a while ago in which someone posted a comment about how they thought since make-up, heels, etc were pushed onto women, and that comfortable clothes which fit the female body are made by women and for women, they believed that men shouldn't wear feminine clothing at all - kind of like they would be appropriating our history and oppression. If I remember correctly, others pointed out that fashion changes over time etc. and while it is a wee bit insensitive for a man to parade around in six inch heels and a face full of make-up and the whole up-do (such as drag), it is also impractical for women to dress that way, and ultimately everyone's better off wearing things that are comfortable for them as individuals.

Thanks for the rundown on the climate there! I lurk there, but it's hard to get a real feel for it without being a poster. It's good to hear things like that can at least be discussed.
