The new law, introduced by Democratic lawmakers Low and Cristina Garcia, won’t prohibit stores from having traditional boys’ and girls’ sections, but will require them to have “a reasonable selection” of toys and items in a “gender neutral section … regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or boys.”

How about we stop traditional marketing towards either boys or girls, and instead group toys by category/type (dolls/figures, puzzles, etc) ... that way ALL toys are "gender neutral" as they should be?

But instead, they leave the boy/girl separated sections and make a third section called "gender neutral". That's solving the problem how, exactly?

Exactly this. All that needed to be done was to do away with the boy/girl distinctions for toys. But no, instead lets enshrine gender stereotypes into law but add a third box for kids to be stuffed into. Thanks, "progressives."
