I think they would define gender as a mixture between gender expression, your personal pronouns, feelings about your body, and whether you relate to men vs women more. So yeah, it does have to do with gender expression. I think the reason you got told that is because TRAs always distinguish between masculine women and trans men/men. But it's all subjective to them. They don't have a set definition like "woman" or "man" like we do.

Everybody used to say "end gender" which referred to getting rid of gender roles, stereotypes, etc, now people are more fond of them than ever before are and using all kinds of meaningless labels.

Ah I see. So it was essentially a bastardization of terms then? That essentially "Gender" was tied to "Gender Roles" and then eventually created "Gender Expression" as a way to break out of the rigidness of gender roles but the TRAs got hold of it and used it as a baseless term to define themselves and then NBS followed suit with this meaningless definition. Because you always hear these people say "Identify as gender" and it just doesn't make sense because they use "man" and "woman" as gender when that isn't their definition.

It's why whenever you ask these people to define "man' and "woman", they cannot do that.

I don't know exactly, I think all those terms have existed for a while. But yeah, TRAs are creating confusion because they can't actually define man, woman, masculine, or feminine. And then non-binary identity made it even more complicated.

It's funny because back when I did believe in Transgenderism, I didn't believe in Non-binary at all and when I went back and analyzed why I didn't believe in NB, this reflection made me see that even trans ideology doesn't make any sense how they define it lol.
