I definitely agree that it's more a prop for a larp than anything to do with self defense. The fact that they drop 2k on a gun proves that they're not afraid of women or live in any actual fear, they're just stupid males with a fetish and a gun hobby. When you live with the actual fear of maybe having to use a firearm to protect yourself, you could give 2 shits about how pretty the damn thing is, it just needs to go bang and be reliable and safe. That typically costs anywhere between ~$200-$700.

If you've ever peaked into the Pink Pistols group on fb (supposed to be an LGBT friendly gun group but of course is overrun by TW) you see a lot of TW being male as fuck and of course going overboard trying to perform femininity, and their guns are just an extension of that. They can customize their guns as girly as they'd like, but the fact remains that it's a deadly weapon being wielded by an unhinged, entitled male who very likely is an incel who hates women. Meanwhile in another concealed carry group I follow on fb with just regular folks, 99% of people post pics of their standard factory guns and just have discussions on concealment, laws, and training with no mention of TERFs or any other imaginary enemy. Funny how no one in that group ever mentions being afraid of women and there's a lot of encouragement for women to train and carry, but there are plenty of discussions on what to do if you find yourself in a sketchy or threatening situation involving men.

to quote revvy from black lagoon: "are you trying to sell me the damn gun?" yeah Its almost like their advertising their hideous custom models. its really funny that they pretend to be UwU smol delicate girl that needs a pink pistol to protecc from meanie no no terfs and men i they try to trick into sex. its real obvious that they don't need it for practicality's sake because on top of having to wait for custom parts to be made for the gun, they show it off on social media, and if anything I learned is you don't want people knowing you have a gun. because it not only takes away a variable that is the element of surprise, its also lets people who live near that hey you have this expensive gun, come and steal it. I can't tell you how many times I've caught people trying to jack into my car or apartment, guns are high ticket value items that thieves like to rob because it helps cover the tracks of would be dangerous people if they acquire a gun registered to someone else. not to mention the way the hold the guns in photos is just beyond what I would consider gun safety.

I have noticed this too and it’s really cringey. Would I disappoint a TIM if I told him I didn’t immediately get my AR cerakoted in sparkly pink? It’s not about personal defense to them, it’s a performance.

I've seen nerds being into anime girls with guns. Something about the juxtaposition of cute vulnerable girl and violently dominating others seems to be attractive to them.

If I had to guess I'd say it's a combination of a power fantasy and and a cute girl fantasy.

yeah they're also into dere types, like for example yandere which translates to love sick, is basically a cute quiet girl going from sweet to insane in a heart beat, the irony is that more than likely if they're exposed to a girl like that irl they'd piss themselves in fright. I think its a hangover from the edgey UwU hot mess scene culture when I was teen; basically being emo cute but edgey was in, so I think most of these tims who grew up want to relive that by larping as women. the even worse irony is that it will never be 2008 again, that ship has sailed, its funny watching them cling on to something that will never happen again, at least in their lifetime.
