I am so glad that this book is coming out and from someone whose credentials are as impeccable as those of Helen Joyce. I think that this book might be a game changer.

Although, I will never call a man who claims to be a woman a transgender, much less a transgender woman.

I feel even allowing the idea that people can change sex or gender or whatever, even in their head, given the confusion around the topic that gender activists have caused, is a slippery slope. One that we seem to be at the bottom of already.

What's more, I fear, its overreach is likely to provoke a backlash that will harm ordinary trans people who simply want safety and social acceptance. When the public finally realises what is being demanded, the blame may not land with the activists, where it belongs.

She seems worried about the "non-crazy" trans and does not seem to understand that the "ordinary trans" are also supporting the movement. I give her points for publishing this book to protect the objective reality on biology, but she seems unaware if she is going to do that, then she's also going against the concept of "transgender" itself (assuming her book uses research that is properly supported).

I have noticed that some UK feminists are much kinder than I am regarding GC-allied TiMs, in terms of they'll be motherly towards them and some even use requested pronouns.

I have nothing against TiMs who claim to be GC allies, but admitting that there is a coherent category called "transgender," which there isn't - gender people are all over the map - would seem to me to mean that you are sort of onboard with transgenders claiming some kinds of rights, and that's where it all goes to hell, because those rights inevitably come out of women's very thin slice of the rights pie.

I'm surprised, they're the antithesis of gendercritical (no biggie, each to their own).

You're right, I guess I do think that TiMs who claim to be GC allies are also, perhaps inadvertently, encouraging the idea that there is such a thing as a transgender woman.
