I don't know about shocking so much as infuriating and disgusting. When I was a kid I remember learning about the Civil War, and Jim Crow, and segregation, and thinking that none of it made any sense because skin color didn't make anyone more or less human. We were all the same. I didn't need Woke education to realize that.

But just a few decades later, Coke tells us to "be less white" and a friend acting like single-parent black households are something innate to blackness rather than a cultural shift in this country dating a few generations back. Or Robin De-worst-racist-on-earth pretending that there's some fundamental difference between the races that means we can never understand each other. The left is so fucking brainwashed by the media telling them what is and isn't racist that they're embracing actual overt racism wholeheartedly. I grew up with these people, I thought we were equally liberal and I thought I knew what that meant. I don't know which disgusts me more, how easy it was for them to adopt racism, or how easy it was for them to be brainwashed, period.
