It's so terrible that I have to wonder why they don't know how to pivot on their single foot and spin on the same spot or just cross one foot over the other and just twist their body around. I would excuse it if it's because of camera framing reasons, but their frames seem to offer sufficient room and they seem to just generally lack coordination and body awareness of how to figure out how to do it.

My mother who was a dance teacher for many years says they are dissociated from their bodies.

Dissociation is a bitch

It might be helpful for phantom limb if they lose a limb one day (I know it's not funny, but it's a stupid joke I had to make, we all know phantom limb does not work like that and their dissociation is from their lack of awareness of their bodies, not nerves).
