They have supportive families, health care and economic stability. I, too, am white and thus privileged. Like them, I live in the liberal Northeast.

Would never have guessed by the amount you worry about pronouns and freaking clothes.

Most people I know are worried about not getting evicted or having enough food for the entire month during this pandemic, or simply not catching covid because the free health system is collapsing and you're fucked if you have no money to go private rn .. I'm just tired of this crap, it makes me angry that these people are finding problems where there are none..

Trans cult is freaking white and very privileged, but they use it as an insult when talking to 'those ebil terves'. It's a gotcha just like the black trans prostitutes in Brazil.

It's annoying when you're not white and not even from the US or UK and they keep talking about feeling unsafe and being oppressed. As if you'd know living in your liberal neighboor, never leaving your nice house, having everyone bend backwards, enabling your delusions, walking on eggshells so they don't lose their jobs or get their social medias cancelled or doxxed or have their friends stop talking to them because you don't feel validated enough, all that while living a first world country, I can't imagine such hardships, truly.

A similarly liberating shift happened for Tygra Slarii, a 29-year-old Black performer

Why they have to say the race of the person everytime? It is not even needed in this context. It's the gotcha still? "Look, they ain't white!" Well so what, they still privileged pricks:

during the pandemic, Mx. Slarii pursued a second gender-affirming surgery, a Brazilian butt lift

I'm not even going to talk about the fact they call their plastic surgeries "gender affirming", like what the fuck is this clownery.

In January, researchers at Columbia found that many lost access to gender-affirming health care.

People are still dying of covid and other real health issues, but- but muh validation!!!!

Upper middle class white liberals are the smuggest, most condescending people I've ever dealt with.

They have no concept of actual struggle, like paying the bills. They also treat non-white people like children that need whites to advocate for them.

Why the non-TIM among them are so hell-bent on fighting for sexual fetishists, I don't know. They can't all be on Big Pharma's payroll.

If harassing the waitstaff is a central part of your identity as a person then please, never leave the fucking house.

Gazing deeply into my naval, I pondered why the waitstaff remained unable to comprehend the vast, expansive and nuanced girth of my [neo-]pronouns

Waitstaff need to know ONE pronoun to serve you, and hint - it's not of the third-person variety

"How can I complain about my oppression when nobody gives a shit?"

This is the second op-ed in two years that the NYT has published by this vacuous narcissist college professor intent on demonizing & oppressing members of the working class who are on their feet all day/night in public/customer service jobs just trying to make ends meet.

The article from 2019 was about how TSA procedures, machines & employees were out to get the trans - and about how all the other ordinary travelers in the security line (who I'm sure paid this dickhead no attention whatsoever except for brief uninterested glances) were always looking/staring at her coz they were trying to figure out which "gender" box to place her into due to her "fade" haircut, "masc" clothes & bulked up build from weight lifting.

God, it's like these people had no idea what went on in the 1960s, 70s & 80s.

It really did read like something from Andrew Doyle's Titiana McGrath.

I sat there reading it like "Hoooooooooooly fuck this is not satire"

If a tree falls in the forest, with no one around to see how it identifies, is it still valid?

Not sure, but I'm probably not going to respect its pronouns while shoving it into the woodchipper 💅
