Hopefully the UK stops the experimentation on kids now that they have data showing there's no evidence that it helps. If they UK stops it then maybe other countries will too.

Some TIM over on ukpol is going batshit about this. Posted a paper/review supposed to support the use of blockers as safe, that he was outraged NICE was ignoring.

I went through every single paper on its reference list.

90% of them were discussing current treatment.

One looked at one case of an older teen on PBs.

One study, (av age 16.7) on PBs that mentioned the bone density issues.

I checked every single one. There's a reason NICE said there was no good quality evidence.

All of the 'supporting' research.

Cohen-Kettenis, Schagen et al., 2011...One person.

Cohen-Kettenis, Steensma et al., 2011... Shows high desistence levels.

De Vries & Cohen-Kettenis, 20... This method leads to virtually all continuing with medical interventions.

Coleman et al., 2012... Summary not study.

Desforges et al., 1991.. Effects of structured cooperative contact on changing negative attitudes toward stigmatized social groups: not even relevant.

Costa et al., 2015; can't find

Delemarre-van de Waal & Cohen-Kettenis, 2006.. discussed stunted growth and bones, not a study either

Kreukels & Cohen-Kettenis, 2011..again a a discussion.

Edwards-Leeper & Spack, 2012.. again not a study, discussion of method.

Hembree et al., 2009...Says: Because a diagnosis of transsexualism in a prepubertal child cannot be made with certainty, we do not recommend endocrine treatment of prepubertal children.

Hembree, 2013..discussion not study, again

Hewitt et al., 2012..says In this group, gender dysphoria was first noted at 3–6 years of age. Not like current admissions.

Khatchadourian et al., 2014; PBs, but didn't look for negative health effects

Nakatsuka, 2012...says: After confirmation of strong and persistent cross-gender identification, not recommending their use without a lot if time behind the diagnosis, no research into health effects

Shumer & Spack, 2013...discussion again

Spack, 2013... More discussion

Vrouenraets et al., 2015...Average age sixteen, not looking at medical outcomes

Vrouenraets et al 2016...same as last one

Wylie et al., 2016...no mention of PBs

They never read shit through.
