One way to prove your faith in a particular movement is to embrace something for which there can be no rational proof as a sign of your commitment. For the Left at the moment, TWAW/TMAM is that profession of faith that demonstrates that you are a member of the congregation.

Yes, I see announcing "your" pronouns as akin to devout Muslims saying "Peace Be Upon Him" every time Mohammed is mentioned. (BTW, I find it hilarious that online and in text that gets shortened to "PBUH" - which when said aloud sounds sorta like pfft or a harrumph. Somehow I don't think that's what the originators of that phrase of fealty had in mind.)

One of my dearest Muslim friends always does that. ALWAYS. To me, saying "peace be upon him" multiple times in one speaking turn is a form of OCD. He and I often talk about the trans craze in the USA, and his answer is often "your country's religion is weak." I'd say the religion is strong, but like we're saying here, that religion is Genderology.

When I see it written as PBUH, I always think of peanut butter.
