The link actually took me here, which was worse:

Does this link work for the original article? Because it's seriously too funny (unintentionally) to miss.

Being born with a uterus doesn't automatically mean you're a woman.

True. It just means you're female. This is how female mammals have offspring. A cow has a uterus. Cows aren't women.

the only safe space I had regarding periods was the all-girls Catholic school

Well say goodbye to all-girls anythings now. Irony lost on her?

This association can also hurt cis women who have health issues and don't menstruate at all.

Two women close to me had to have hysterectomies. The only positive thing either told me was "at least I don't have to deal with periods anymore!" Neither has told me "the sight of tampons and pads labelled as women's products hurts my identity!"

Womanhood should depend on how people self-identify. Full-stop.

In fact, we should ALL make our own rules about everything! Everyone who claims to be Napoleon, Jesus, the reincarnation of whoever, so be it!

Because when you're assigned female at birth and identify as a woman, the crunch of a pad wrapper isn't just a possibility for embarrassment. It isn't the kind of liability that could result in transphobic harassment or even physical assault.

Is the word "don't" missing? A woman who "identifies" as a woman uses the women's room, and other women are familiar with that crunch and aren't going to assault you. If you're doing that in the men's room, most men will be disgusted, and a few will want to stick that used pad in their own underwear and post selfies of it on reddit.

Transmasculine people often experience severe dysphoria while menstruating. Gender dysphoria can look like increased irritability, anxiety, a depressed mood, fatigue, and an uptick in mood swings overall.

Wow, it sounds so much like what women go through when we get our period! So PMS is actually "gender dysphoria" -- who knew!

I had to stop there. This woman needs help.

I couldn't read the whole thing because it was tedious and reeked of first world problems. The problem is completely artificial. She is a woman who menstruates, which will not be shocking to anyone, and she could use the women's bathroom without any issue. The only barrier or potential harm is entirely in her mind. These people are hurting themselves with this convoluted and completely unnecessary ideology. She is putting so much energy into resisting reality. Just accept that you're a woman and do you; no one is stopping you.

Right? And I hate the implication that no one has any issues with real women and their periods. Leave the hugbox behind and stop being the only thing standing in your way, I promise life is more enjoyable once you stop viewing people as solely allies and enemies.
