Education Departments, where teachers get trained, are some of the most extreme "woke" organizations you will ever encounter. The wife of a friend of mine is getting her Masters in Education, and they have totally indoctrinated her. There is no freedom of thought in those departments whatsoever. You have to comply, or you will never get a degree.

My mom is a retired teacher and said teachers are more susceptible to this type of thing because they are more emotional and sensitive to the children. It's terrifying nowadays.

I'm beginning to realize that. That is what happening to that Owen Stevens student at SUNY. They suspended him for posting on social media that he does not believe TWAW, and the school argued that his failure to profess a belief in the TWAW slogan makes him unsuitable for an education career.

That's how bad it's gotten, and ten years ago, no one had heard of this. I was a university lecturer in the Humanities, and I had never heard anyone talk about "my pronouns" or TWAW as an article of faith. It all exploded with Tumblr and social media. It's social contagion at a pandemic level.

It still boggles my mind that I taught for 20 years and never had a single trans-identifying student in any of my classes.
