That is terrifying. These adults are projecting their own neuroses around sex and gender onto the children they are supposed to be protecting. Just let kids be kids and stop trying to foist upon them an unhealthy obsession with labels and "identity."

Conversion therapy is so old... don't think there is a way to stop it. It will just keep resurfacing.

When I was a dysphoric girl in elementary school (1988 into the 90s), I would've loved to have been told "you can be a boy!"

I get why people support it... "just be yourself" is bullshit.

Young women have been victims of conversion therapy by believing in sex positivity and pimping themselves out... instead of being "prudes" who don't get attention from men. Everyone is converting to be something they're not or shouldn't be.

I don’t think “be yourself is bullshit?” I think it’s a good motto to teach kids.

I think "be yourself" is being misused by AGP who at 40-50 years old suddenly announce they're being their "true" selves by dressing up in their wives' clothes.

Horrifying that people who work with children are feeding them this sex-change bull.

The problem isn't how they dress, though they should get their own clothes, not wear their wives'. The problem is that they say they are actually the other sex. Hardly "being themselves."

These days, many people think being your "authentic self" and "living your truth" naturally involves a lot of artifice and lying.

Being yourself takes purchasing power and a social media presence

Not a lot of folks in refugee camps with gender identities. Makes you wonder.

Absolutely - all this gender madness are true First World Problems, but it's even more tragic that it will eventually filter down to refugee camps. Can you only imagine the horrors women in those camps will experience when their toilets, what toilets they have, become "gender-neutral"?

Cultural imperialism thy name is Gender Ideology.

If you're in the US and in the UK, there are groups working on stopping the teaching of gender ideology in schools.

There is an extremely conservative US group called Mass Resistance. I have also posted other US and UK groups on this sub, so please scroll down.

Also, Chris Elston in Canada. He and some gender critical feminists don't get along at all, but he's out there in public calling out Canada's SOGI (Sexual Orientation Gender Identity) education, etc. He's probably got something on his Twitter about Canadian activists against gender ideology that might connect people to them:

Considering the other problems in life one might encounter, the promoting of this fantasy gender-dysphoria problem and preventing anyone from not taking it seriously through bannings and public ostrasization is definitely an indicator of Brave New Word type thinking. In the 1990s or 80s I dont remember hearing anything about transgender other than occasional mention of someone having a "sex change", which was considered acceptable but eccentric. I don't see how suddenly neologisms like "transgender" or "non-binary" can be invented and expect society to make a U-turn in thought as if normal. You simply can't change your gender. You will always be a girl or boy that got a sex change. You will never really be the other gender. And it's not cool either. It makes them look like wannabes. Being a man trapped in a woman's body makes you look like a loser. You'd be better off just dealing with being a woman or lesbian than being a loser.

There's a tremendous amount of money being poured into pushing gender ideology across the world.

The11thHourBlog.com tracks the money- you will be shocked.

Agree. This is almost like modern Cartesian dualism, which is stupid because the mind and body are one. I don't understand why people's heads feel divorced from their body and visa versa. Maybe I'm lucky to have never had this problem. We are many things that makeup the one, single person who we are. People need to recognize that or they will always be running away, searching for a holy grail, or wishing for something external that probably will not manifest to bring them validation. People need to learn acceptance of their body and then focus on growing their mind and becoming better people.

It makes them look like wannabes. Being a man trapped in a woman's body makes you look like a loser.

Totally. It's performative and based on stereotypes. It makes me cringe. If people want to pretend and act that they are something else, that's a sign of someone insecure. You don't want to play pretend if you are happy and comfortable with who you are as a person. I wish people would get comfortable in their own skin, but I guess it's easier nowadays to look for an escape. It's really sad if you think about it.

People can easily change their “gender” if that means adopting some of the stereotypical behavior and attitudes culturally ascribed to the other sex. TRAs equate sex and gender so that they slide together; the Gender Critical separate them, so they don’t.

Actors play roles in movies but they arent the characters they play.

I think she did the right thing by pulling him from daycare. That's all she really CAN do aside from complaining to the owner of the place and making a scene on social media. As long as your kid attends public places they'll be exposed to wonky ideas unfortunately. All kinds, not just this. It's your job as a parent to instill strong values in your child so they know up from down.

[–]Rationalmind[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know about that. It's not professional or responsible of a daycare teacher or worker to talk to kids or toddlers about a medical transition to the opposite sex. I agree on the part of the parents and that you can't protect your kids from everything, but that doesn't mean people in certain roles should not be the gatekeepers. They are the gatekeepers and their sole job is to protect children. Telling unproven nonesense to children is irresponsible.
