Jesus. On one hand, I'm an accelerationist. Put the crazy front and center, so everyone can see it. We now have mainstream civil rights organizations denying the reality of biological sex.

On the other hand, they fudge their words in such a way that enough ignorant people might be misled into believing that what they're saying is scientifically accurate. Most people don't have a clue what 'trans' means, and they may assume it applies to a particular biologically defined class of people.

Did you see that South Park where Mr. Garrison (I think?) invents a bicycle where you have to stick the control up your ass? And people go along with it! That's where we are now, isn't it.

You can tell people "some women are accidentally born in a male body, so we have to butcher that body, put them on drugs for life, and then act like they're normal women because clearly they are because they say they 'feel' like women" -- and they nod, okay, fine, I get it.....

Sometimes I think the Elite sit around making up extreme stuff to dump on us just to win a bet. "Hey, I bet I can get the masses to....." and it's a contest to see how insane they can get and people will go along with it.

I think that Biden's executive order, and the conservative media frenzy around it, put the crazy front and center.

I needed my overstretched, but very intelligent and fair, Progressive friends to wake up regarding how the T has hijacked LGB (being good liberals, they blindly support LGBT), and I think this sports issue, and the lies surrounding it by the ACLU, etc., might just do it.

Do you think it woke them up (afraid to use that verb "wake" "woke" at all anymore!) or just cemented them more solidly to the myth of LGBTQ+? I find a lot of people will automatically agree with "their" party no matter what -- they put party over principle.

I'm afraid that the hateful division in the USA is so strong that people would swear up and down water was dry and the sun was cold if conservatives said water was wet and the sun hot.

Most of my friends are older, so when I explain the whole gender ideology thing to them they get it. They remember when women in the US didn't have some basic human rights, whereas many younger women don't grasp what's at stake.

2+2=4, but yea, the Party sycophants say 2+2=5.

I think this is true. I see a lot of scientific misinformation being presented as fact, by people who have no scientific background. They seem to be imbibing and then regurgitating standard talking points without understanding those talking points and without realizing that they are being misled. I think this is partly because our societal discourse tends, for some reason, to work along principles of soundbites: easy to ingest, not very meaningful. For example "Transwomen are women." That's easy. Most people do not realize it means nothing. Or, "Girl brain in a boy body." That makes no sense but people with a high school level of biology do not understand this. People fall for the "but a woman who had a hysterectomy is a woman so why can't a transwoman be a woman eleventy one" and, again, I think this is because it's easy to grasp this argument (even though the argument is fundamentally flawed). It is difficult to explain to the average voter that even though sex determination is indeed complex, that it is still true that there are two separate developmental pathways (male and female), and that it is possible to determine which pathway a particular person's body follows.

I know a number of parents of daughters, who (the parents) are completely on board with TWAW and I think the combination of the difficulty of explaining scientific reality, along with ideological loyalty to the idea that progressives always have your best interests at heart, is at work here.

In the US, there's been a deliberate dumbing down of educational standards. Originally mostly due to the Republicans, but now the Democrats and their allies are bombarding kids with gender ideology from before Kindergarten.

The gender lobby is fully taking advantage of this.

The ACLU has been saying this sort of stuff for several years, just not as publicly. But it's all there in the court briefs they've filed on behalf of TIMs participating in female sports, getting placed in or transferred to women's prisons/jails, and having access to spaces, programs and services meant for female people.

It used to be only Chase Strangio of the ACLU who was saying this sort of stuff on Twitter, but now this nonsense is being spouted from the official ACLU Twitter.

I hope your first point is what holds true. Coz it breaks a cardinal rule of these pernicious stealth movements: don't say the quiet part out loud.

The ACLU lost its way several years ago. They are really just ripping off the bandaid at this point.

Someone needs to do a serious investigative report on this. There must be many old guard and true believers of civil liberties who fled the organization in recent years or are still there in hopes of righting the ship's path.

Here's a woman who resigned from the ACLU because of gender ideology. Don't know the credibility of this source, but it seems to be sticking to the facts:

"The African-American leaders of that Georgia state chapter of the ACLU has resigned, citing her own daughters’ “frightened” reaction to biological males using the women’s restroom. The “hierarchy of rights” the ACLU chooses to defend or ignore, she wrote, is “based on who is funding the organization’s lobbying activities.”

My favorite is "fact" three. It's hypocritical when they bring up gender policing when they're the biggest enforcers of gender stereotypes.

I'm sure many athletic women have been called too masculine or manly, but at the end of the day biological sex is pretty easy to prove so anyone who claims "she's too good at a sport, must be a man" would easily be proven wrong if the person in question is biologically female. It's basically a non-issue, the only thing getting hurt by not allowing trans identified men compete in women's sports is those men's feelings. I fail to see how allowing biological men compete with women is at all beneficial to women when the outcome will be all top "female" athletes will be men.

[–]MarkTwainiac 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

My favorite is "fact" three. It's hypocritical when they bring up gender policing when they're the biggest enforcers of gender stereotypes.

Also, in sports, particularly competitive sports, policing of athletes' bodies in various ways comes with the territory. In elite level sports and various professional leagues, anti-doping regulations require that athletes get randomly visited and called upon to drop their trousers and undies and urinate in full view of a sports official so that their pee can be tested for banned substances.

In sports where there are different categories based on weight, such as boxing and wrestling, athletes are weighed publicly. In professional boxing, the weigh-ins long have been a media spectacle, as this clip showing Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali talk trash about Joe Louis and Sonny Liston at a weigh-in from 1964 shows: https://youtu.be/SJRHxr1fYw0

Take any sport, even many JHS and HS scholastic sports, and there's probably a website or many where you can look up the stats of individual athletes, which include not just records of how well they've performed, but personal information such as their height, weight and sometimes their shoe size.

For 30 years starting in the mid-1960s, elite athletes competing in the female division were all required to give buccal swabs of saliva (from inside their mouths) in order to get their sex chromosomes tested. This practice was discontinued coz of complaints and legal challenges by athletes competing in female sports found to be XY. Buccal swab testing - which took a few seconds, was painless, did not involve disrobing or bodily probing, and only had to be done once in an athlete's career/life - did not engender [LOL] a hue and cry from XX athletes. The XX athletes did not mind this one-time "policing" of their bodies to ascertain their chromosomal sex. All the athletes who raised formal objections were ones that the sex chromosome testing revealed to be XY.

Significantly, the first XY athlete to win a legal challenge to the practice of buccal swab sex chromosome was on the Olympic Committee that in 2015 decided to allow male athletes who "identify as" female to compete in the Olympics so long as they've lowered their testosterone to levels lower than the normal male range, but are still four to 10 or more times higher than the female range.

Those who make the "gender policing" argument like to bring up the specter of what happened before DNA testing became possible and the various DSDs began to be described and well understood in medical literature. In the 1950s and 60s, elite athletes in the female category in some elite international sports, such as track & field, had to provide medical certificates documenting their "femininity" and to strip naked and parade in front of sports officials. The athletes found this invasive, degrading and sexist - understandably so, coz it was. But all of that ended with the introduction of sex chromosome testing in the mid-60s.

Still, males who want to compete in female sports and those who back them still continually call up the specter of the kind of sex testing that was stopped more than a half century ago to make the claim that all/any sex testing in today's era and the future is inherently unfair, sexist and prurient - indicative of a voyeuristic, fetishistic, perverted and entirely uncalled-for curiosity about "what's in someone's pants."

Caster Semenya's PR campaign and legal case heavily exploited what was done in to female athletes in the past as justification for why no one in today's era should be allowed to raise questions about Semenya's sex - which the detailed CAS court decision released in 2019, and statements from the IAAF/World Athletics, make abundantly clear is male. TIMs and those arguing on their behalf employ the very same reasoning. Today the injustices done in the past to XX athletes across the board are being appropriated by, and on behalf of, XY athletes - both "trans" and with particular male-only DSDs - who insist it's their right to be included in female sports so long as they "identify as" girls/women.

Exactly - there was a whole bunch of "these save women's sports bills will lead to genital exams!" hysteria spewed by the "liberal" echo chamber in the US.

Hello? Testing DNA doesn't require pulling down anyone's pants.

It's the same with the "assigned at birth" crap the gender lobby has made popular: DNA tests allow the determination of the sex of the baby well before birth, so in parts of the world where DNA testing is available and affordable, the physician attending the birth has to do nothing in terms of "assigning" the sex.

All these lies just make the gender lobby look ridiculous.

That being said, many people are stupid and /or uninformed, and the gender lobby has bought out whole formerly respected institutions and publications, and hired master propagandists, so we need to push back every single time we hear their nonsense.

[–]MarkTwainiac 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

in parts of the world where DNA testing is available and affordable, the physician attending the birth has to do nothing in terms of "assigning" the sex.

Fetal sex screening by obstetric ultrasound has long been widely available and widely used even amongst people without much in the way of financial resources even in developing or poorer countries like India, China, Vietnam, Albania, Tunisia and others in order to facilitate sex selective abortions of female fetuses simply for being female. Ultrasound can tell fetal sex with nearly 100% accuracy at 70 days post fertilization, a few days earlier in the case of female fetuses. Which is well within the time frame for legal abortion everywhere abortion is legal.

In several countries nowadays, just the fact that a baby gets to be born indicates that it's very likely that testing in utero already showed him to be male.

I've been saying for a while about DNA found at a crime scene. The police find male DNA and think they're looking for a male killer -- but he's out there in drag and listed in the system as "female" -- and I got told by a "liberal" female friend "oh that's NEVER going to happen!"

It's written as if the ACLU were taken hostage by a TIM. Full-on-crazy from the very first bullet point.

The ACLU has been taken hostage, except it was by a TiF, Chase Strangio, and a whole lot of gender lobby money.

[–]WrongToy 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I believe the TIF Gavin Grimm is also on the board.

[–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Great. The trojan horse of the gender lobby.

When will TiFs wake up and realize how much they've been used by autogynephiles?

[–]our_team_is_winning 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm not sure who hates women more though, TiF or AGP? We need more female self-esteem at an early age. Women hating themselves at this level coincides with online narcissism and rampant hardcore pornography.

I used to be against this, but I'm beginning to wonder if separating boys and girls in school for the first five years (or more) might be a good idea? [And NO, genderspecial little Bobby with his NB parents is NOT being admitted to the girls' classes!]

[–]MarkTwainiac 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think the ACLU adopted a pro-trans, anti-woman and "sex isn't real" ideology first, then hired Strangio to argue and advocate for that viewpoint. Not the other way around.

[–]PassionateIntensity 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Strangio isn't the money though. Her delusionally incompetent ass wouldn't be allowed anywhere near their public face if there weren't millions of trans lobby dollars filling their coffers.

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah - Strangio has made the ACLU a laughingstock. Which is tragic, because it is still much needed. I used to be a donor; I called the ACLU and told them why I am no longer a donor.

Same with Amnesty International, which has been swallowed whole by the gender ideologues.

I always forget that comedian's real name, but his whole Twitter feed is spot-on. I was horrified by his post from some school that has parent-teacher conferences segregated by race. WTH is that about? So mixed race and interracial parents are just out of luck? "Latinx" (!) parents want something different for their children than Asian parents do? Health, well-being, success, and happiness aren't every parent's goal for children?

Odd how Wokeness is so quick to segregate everyone by race but when it comes to sex, something we actually DO need segregation for, they throw the men in with the women like there's no difference!

[–]BEB[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So true: my mixed-race family runs the color spectrum, because race is a spectrum. Biological sex is not. I bring the race versus sex comparision up in almost every conversation I have about this issue.

And now, with Hilaria Baldwin, I don't even have to bring race up, I just bring up how she was hammered for cultural appropriation whereas father of multiple children, Brucelyn Jenner, wins an award for best woman.
