They're not monolithic, ya know, so there are still some older folks who (want to) use transsexual. Maybe the "truscum"/"transmedicalist" side.

But those people are mostly not TRAs, on the contrary many are appalled by the TRAs, and the OP specifically asked why do TRAs hate the word.

Do you think someone who identifies as transsexual would respect sex-segregated spaces? I do appreciate people who acknowledge their sex so they get a point haha.

At this point, probably not.

'Transexual' is a legacy nomenclature underpinned by decades of research and established typologies (see Ray Blanchard's work). Transgenderism is an ideological movement aimed at tearing all that down in an attempt to align 'trans' with the gay rights movement. This is why you see certain public trans figures like Rose of Dawn and Buck Angel still proclaiming themselves 'transexual', and being attacked by the transgender movement for doing so.

I assume TRAs hate that word because it implies people with gender dysphoria transition.

Based on what I have seen on Twitter and YouTube, some trans identified males have no desire to transition: take hormones and get surgery.

Some are indeed quite happy with the body they were born with.
