The really sad part about this backlash against Woko Haram is that there is still a tremendous amount of actual racism and sexism in the United States, and these Woke extremists are pushing a lot of people away from the honest discussions that need to happen on these topics.

I think making it difficult to have honest, productive discussions re racism, sexism and other important issues - and making it hard to come up with up workable, fair-minded, effective solutions - as well as provoking a backlash against the Woko Haram agenda are precisely the aims of many who have come up with and push the agenda in the first place.

A whole lot of people nowadays make their living - and/or obtain their sense of worth and purpose - from producing books and other media, giving lectures, conducting pricey training sessions, running government programs, holding school administrative positions, doing lobbying and activism, and creating social media personas that are supposedly in the service of advancing "equity and inclusion," "anti-racism," "tolerance" and "acceptance of all gender identities."

If their purported aims were actually met, it would mean the end to the gravy train and/or the raison d'être for a good many people. But if there's a backlash against wokeism, the pushers of this ideology will feel vindicated and proven right and will continue to carry on with an even greater sense of righteousness, rage and urgency.

Also, re sexism specifically - I think many of those who push the woke ideology that centers transgenderism and TIMs specifically are fully aware of how regressive, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, male supremacist and harmful to young people and damaging to women's rights it is - and that's why they're so gung-ho behind it. But sadly coz so many of the woke claim to be and "identify as" feminists, the backlash will mean a step backwards for genuine feminism, discussions of sexism and attempts to dismantle sexism as well.

Agreed, they are fully aware of what they are doing, I don' t buy for a second that they are just well intentioned extremists. I also agree that they crave the backlash because it will just get them more ammunitions to play the victim part. At this point I think that changing goalposts so often it' s done to keep the victim status more than because they are too batshit crazy to understand that they are going too far.

It's like we have tons of billionaire conglomerates pushing for "grass roots" activism in order to push an agenda that will destroy the US from within. A big part of their goal is to push transgenderism in every aspect of society. Someone on saidit posted this in another sub, but it kind of illustrates the point: https://www.spiked-online.com/2021/01/29/the-billionaire-takeover-of-civil-society/

There's a name for pushing an agenda devised and driven by corporations, politicians, wealthy elites and all the other powers-that-be at the top and pretending it's a "grass roots" movement: astro-turfing.

I've also invented a name for movements and ideologies that pretend to be one thing but actually are the opposite: shamism.

From the Oxford dictionary:

sham

noun

1 a thing that is not what it is purported to be: the proposed legislation is a farce and a sham.

• pretense: it all turned out to be sham and hypocrisy.

• a person who pretends to be someone or something they are not: he was a sham, totally unqualified for his job as a senior doctor.

Transgenderism is actually shamism on many different levels: it's regressive but pretends to be progressive; it's invasive but falsely calls itself inclusive; it's male-supremacist but claims to be feminist; it's a colonialist enterprise that "identifies as" a civil rights movement; it's libertinism pretending to be liberation ... and so on.

At the same time, the shamism of transgenderism also casts people pretending to be what they are not as a social good, indeed an admirable, even virtuous and noble activity; and it's attempting to get lying, playacting, impersonating the opposite sex and hiding the truth about one's past enshrined in law as protected characteristics.
