Spoiler alert: their child is a boy and chose to identify as male.

Also, gag:

she explained: 'Zoomer understands that some girls have penises and some boys have vulvas, and some intersex kids have vulvas and testes. Zoomer knows some daddies get pregnant and some nonbinary parents are called Zazas.

I guess providing children with a stable sense of material reality is overrated. It must be draining to grow up in that family. I cannot wait for the Zoomers of the world to release their memoirs in a couple of decades.

I can only imagine this poor child will have a baffling number of mental health issues, compounded by the inevitable bullying having the name "Zoomer" will attract. Unless this next generation somehow does a complete 180 and every kid is super polite and respectful.

I'll bet a huge number of children like this will end up in some "raised by narcissists" groups when they're older.

Like I'm all for letting your kid play with whatever toys they want and even wearing whatever they want (as long as it's appropriate), but why form their identity around their preferences? These people are raising their kids with stricter gender restrictions than we've seen in a few generations. But in a weird way I guess this particular couple genuinely let him decide, as opposed to assuming that if he liked pink or dolls he had to be a girl.

I'm actually surprised that this kid is identifying as a boy instead of non-binary or some other 'genderqueer' label.

Teaching children not to be able to name and recognize biological sex is also a serious safeguarding problem.

Serious question for people: would you let your (real or imaginary) kid associate with a family like this. I feel like I wouldn't send my kid over to the home of this type of family.

Absolutely not. I'd be worried what the kid or the parents would be telling my kid. I'd also be worried I might have to talk to his parents, and upon finding out that they raised him this way after calling him "zoomer" - yeah, no. They're quite likely exhausting, obnoxious, head-in-their ass ultra woke. I'd feel bad for the kid, but no matter how nice he is nothing would be worth dealing with the parents.

Interesting question. In theory I'd want to say live and let live, but the parents are so zealous that I would be worried they would try to proselytize my child and destabilize her or his sense of foundational reality.

Some people get punched in the face for naming their kid fucking ZOOMER and telling a kid about man pussies and lady dicks is ridiculous. They should have their child removed and the whole family should be sterilized. Fuck these assholes.

Child abuse but make it woke

Those two ate all the crazy pills, the effects of which were clearly evident when they named their child Zoomer. That poor kid.

And of course there's a memoir and a blog devoted to the brainwashing of this child. Unfuckingreal what people will do to profit from the genderspeshul bullshit.

If this shit was done by researchers it would be deemed unethical, but because its by parents its “fine and good uwu”

Weird thing to say, but I'm kind of glad it's a straight couple. I don't need people to associate LGB with this sort of bs.

Also it's not the first time they say "I'm a person" (opposed to a boy/girl), are you suggesting that being in the gender binary somehow makes you not a person? Just because someone wants to know your sex doesn't mean they're not going to treat you like a human. They'll treat you differently, sure but what are trying to imply here?

I actually think that they’ve got half of this right in allowing their child to express their PERSONALITY freely without any (conscious) expectation of him to act like the sexist stereotype of a boy. However They’ve obviously got the other half seriously wrong in confusing sex and gender. I don’t get what’s sooo bad about biological sex? How’re they going to teach their son that he can get people pregnant?! Are this new generation of children just going to have to leave it to random chance about whether they’ll be able to conceive or not?

Assuming that their son is male.
