Don't beat yourself up for peaking too late. A lot of the changes to laws were done sub rosa, so even if you had peaked fully 15 or 20 years ago, you might have missed what was going on in the legal realm. I know I sure did. And I peaked to the perniciousness of the "trans" phenomenon and its politics and social and political implications in the 1970s.

In fact, in the US and in other countries as well, changing laws and policy in secret and through the back door has been a deliberate strategy of the trans movement for many years, as the report on the recommendations by Denton's revealed. Denton's, one of the world's biggest law firms, warned trans activists

to "avoid excessive press coverage and exposure", because the "general public is not well informed about trans issues, and therefore misinterpretation can arise". It describes how activists in Ireland "have directly lobbied individual politicians and tried to keep press coverage to a minimum in order to avoid this issue”. Chances of success are increased if activists “target youth politicians" who in successful campaigns elsewhere in Europe 'brought up the issue at every meeting of any sort - even ones which were not directly relevant, to ensure the issue was at the forefront of everyone’s minds."

Denton's advised getting law and policy changes in by piggybacking trans onto other movements such as gay rights, and by adding trans-friendly language and amendments to other new legislation, such as laws legalizing same-sex marriage and prohibiting "gay conversion therapy."

Denton's further advised that the trans movement frame all their issues as matters of basic "human rights"

"because of the "political stigma of a human rights violation."

And Denton's recommended dismissing concerns about the impact of "trans rights" on women's rights, children's rights and safeguarding as trivial - and demonizing women who might raise such concerns as "TERFs" motivated by bigotry and "transphobia" who are basically just pearl-clutching busybodies intent on making mountains out of molehills, so to speak.

Also, in the US at the federal, state and municipal levels, most of the changes to law and policy have been put in place by wholly undemocratic, unethical means.

For example, Obama single-handedly - and high-handedly -ended female-only scholastic sports in the US by issue an executive order that rewrote US Title IX; no attempt was made to do this via legislative means. Similarly, over the course of its two terms the Obama administration's Dept of Education issued various other rules that used "anti bullying" rhetoric to mean US schools would be obliged to let trans-identified students use the sex-specific toilets and locker rooms and other facilities of their choice.

At the same time, other executive branch agencies under Obama did much the same. For example, in 2012, HUD issued its "Equal Access Rule" that put an end to sex segregation in federally-funded homeless shelters and forced female-only shelters and sections to admit males who claim to have opposite sex "gender identities."

Similar stealth moves have occurred at the state, country, local and school district/board level. None of this has been done in an above-board way that would allow for legislators and the public to discuss and argue over the consequences of making such sweeping, controversial changes. Coz "no debate!"

Other de facto, temporary changes to law and policy that effectively have eroded women's rights, parents' rights and children's rights in the US have been made by judges in legal rulings that might or might not hold up whenever these matters finally get before the US Supreme Court.

Denton strategy capture, in hindsight, for sure, in this state.

Another of your comments saved for political advocacy.
