It's standard.

I've also seen assorted black academics get called white supremacists.

It's been about the worst thing you can call someone for so long, that it sends a lot of classic liberals running from a source if it's waved around.

It's started to lose its sting. If everything is far right... Nothing is.

Indeed, and it's true about a lot of the mud that is slung around these days. When things like mathematics are racist, or 'ridiculing [a] partner's gender identity' (whatever that means) is abuse, or words are 'literal violence', then these concepts become very diluted and 'cheapen' actual instances of racism, transphobia or violence.

This is what I find so disgusting about it. Kids are comparing someone hurting their feelings online to Nazism and segregation and slavery. Real people died during the actual history of those events, real families were torn apart and culture and language lost for generations. But forgetting someone's pronouns, totally comparable, they aren't just a self-absorbed ignorant narcissist.
