Was it the Target controversy that really brought it to light?

Seems like it. The book was selling well before that, but Abigail Shrier was just interviewed on Fox News, so that takes it to a new level of visibility.

Also, Shrier had a piece in the Wall Street Journal opinion pages about it within the last couple of days. I'd imagine that anyone who reads the WSJ opinion pages likely has both the interest and means to buy books.

Her episode on the Joe Rogan podcast is also the one that made the Spotify workers throw a fit. The book didn't take off then but I'm sure the drama around it helped.

I'm wondering how that is going - is Spotify literally murdering trans people after it pays for voice training, dick inversion, hair removal, brazilian butt lifts, breast implants, facial reconstruction, and japanese loli outfits because it won't or contractually can't delete that episode?
