To answer why US women aren't fighting the Equality Act, the first reason is almost no one knows it exists, or only know it exists as LGBTQ-rights legislation.

No mainstream journalist or politician on the Left, to my knowledge, has explained the ramifications to women of the Equality Act.

The women and gay organizations, and the Left media (such as it is) have been completely bought out by Trans, Inc. - literally - they receive funding from foundations that are directly tied to the men and organizations behind gender ideology -and so enthusiastically support the Equality Act.

I don't pay attention to the Women's Marches any more after the "pink hats are transphobic" controversy, but I think the organizers are also on the TWAW train because that's where the $$$ are.

I volunteered for the Democrats before the 2018 midterms, not because I like the Democrats but because I hate the Republicans and didn't want them to control both branches of congress and the presidency. I didn't know the Equality Act existed until after the election. Had I known that it existed there's no way in hell I would have volunteered for the Democrats.

Before COVID, I would talk to people about the Equality Act all the time, and not one knew it existed, including my very educated and accomplished friends. Not one.

And when I talk to friends about it today, they don't believe me - they don't believe that the Democrats would be 100% behind a bill that will strip women of our rights, dignity, privacy, safety and sports.

We have a huge pharmaceutical lobby; it's the number one spender of lobbying dollars on politicians at the national level, and also spends on the state level (and I'll bet the pharma lobby is also spending on the local level), so that's another reason this legislation has been pushed. As far as I know, the UK and other countries with national healthcare don't have a pharmaceutical lobby.

I think the $$ of Big Pharma are one of the reasons the Republicans aren't using the Equality Act to their advantage. The other is that they don't want to run afoul of the Rainbow Reich (powerful formerly gay rights organizations that are now all-trans all-the-time) and corporations that now almost uniformly support the Rainbow Reich.

But some conservative women know the Equality Act exists and have been fighting Equality Act-type legislation tooth & nail, sometimes allied with US rad fem group, the Women's Liberation Front (WoLF), which has been out there in the trenches fighting for women's rights.

And yes, abortion is always used as the lure to keep women voting for Democrats in terms of women's rights. It's being used right now.

Same here. They won't believe me. Or I get "well, just vote for Biden and then we'll explain to him about making changes to the Act" -- yeah, that'll work! Or they tell me "No, silly (yes, I got called "silly" by a woman!), Democrats are FOR women!" Sure. Because politicians don't take huge bribes and say or do ANYTHING for power and money. Right.

Too many women telling me "oh, I'm not worried."

Tell them that if the US Equality Act passes ANY man can follow their daughter into her locker room.

ANY man can disrobe in front of their mother in her nursing home room.

ANY man can sexually assault her while she's hospitalized and unconscious.

And when she goes to the airport and gets patted down, ANY (wo)man can be the person touching her intimate parts in public.

US feminists have a MASSIVE fight on their hands and they don’t seem to be organized. Hope it’s going better over there than I think but I’m worried for American women and girls. Really worried.

They cannot see this train coming down the tracks b/c they are so unrelentingly focused on the threat of abortion rights being taken away. The left always does this, every election cycle and it works. They are going to vote for Biden and then spend 2021 and beyond wondering why there are dudes in the ladies' room, the changing rooms, the locker room at the gym, etc. The sad part is that they'll never actually blame themselves for voting this shit into law when they could have stepped up and stopped it dead in its tracks. The abortion fight will rage on as always no matter what happens. The Equality Act, once pass thru congress and signed into law, isn't going away.
