"Womanhood is a social act that does not require matching genitals. Pregnancy is a physical condition that does not require identifying as a woman."

CassandraExMachina - 1 point ·15 minutes ago

"Womanhood is NOT social. Are you kidding me? Women have been oppressed and raped and killed for THOUSANDS of years on the basis of their sex. Girls are still killed in some countries upon BIRTH because of their female sex, should they tell their killers they don't self-identify with the social act of womanhood so they can survive? Are other races just performative, too? Is being black or white a social act? Do you think you can appropriate that as well?

Women WAKE UP. Our compassion is being weaponized against us to remove our rights. This thread is 500 comments strong and almost no one BLINKED at the erasure of the WORD WOMAN when referring to pregnancy. A movement is being colonized to promote misogyny. It's transparent."

upon BIRTH

In the modern era, before birth too.

Yes, with current diagnostic tools like the non-invasive test of maternal blood known as the NIPT the sex of a fetus can be easily and rather inexpensively ascertained at 8/9 weeks. Which helps explain why in many parts of the world like India the custom of aborting female fetuses simply because they are female has been on the rise in recent years.

This is a good sign! Glad to hear there are others(women specifically) PEAKING!!

It feels like everywhere I go, I see TRA propaganda and there's no space for real discussions...My workplace is PLAGUED with libfem rhetoric and they talk politics ALL THE DAMN TIME. It is tiring. No offense to the Americans, but the americans I work with are OBSESSED with regressive 'progressive' politics ,aka, they're morally SUPERIOR to everyone else and everyone BETTER agree or you're a literal Nazi/Hitler that it is annoying.

I know I'm wishing for utopia but...it would be nice to look back on this in history as just a minor little "flop" and laugh at how RIDICULOUS we were...

...as much as I love my mother country, I can't go back due to extreme violence and also the hatred they have for women there in particular. So...I'll bear these dumb "identity" politics instead over at the current country I am in. It's stupid.

As an immigrant, Progressive American Goody Two Shoes (SJWs) obsessed with intersectionality will probably allow you to say GC things, so I would go for it - tell the truth. You come from a country where women literally can't identify out of their violent oppression, so your coworkers can't challenge your lived experience, and they worship you as an immigrant anyway.

Even if your coworkers never acknowledge it, you speaking out might help others think through their own rejection of gender ideology and also make it easier for them to speak out when the tide starts to turn.

And many of them will glowingly talk about Kamala, even though it was HER idea to lock single mothers in jail if they had children who were truent. (Mainly on reddit)

Here she talks about how proud she was of that idea.

Lol from the comments "Womanhood is a social act that does not require matching genitals. " I thought that NoBDy iS sAyIng BiOloGY IsN't rEal.

[–]MarkTwainiac 10 insightful - 8 fun10 insightful - 7 fun11 insightful - 8 fun -  (0 children)

What does he mean by "matching genitals" anyway? It's like he's talking about a necktie and pocket square, or shoes and a handbag.

[–]LasagnaRossa 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If you go deeper you'll find someone saying that if you can think of something, then it exists. The discussion became so crazy that the TRA concluded that God and unicorns exist too thanks to that logic.

They really don't want to admit that their logic doesn't work in real life.

American social laws are piece of garbage, created to exploit people.

peaking

The more this all is exposed to majority of people, the more people are peaking, especially among women. This replacement of words is just stupid, misogynic ("pregnant people") and homophobic ("queer people").

[–]PeakingPeachEater 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It's good that articles like this are peaking others!

The only thing that made me a bit miffed was their odd choice of words such as using pregnant people when only WOMEN can get pregnant in the article...

And I agree with you, I HATE the term 'queer'. There is no 'queer people' that's a derogatory word I do not wish to be called. There's only gay/lesbian/bi---no 'queer'---that is all.

If I wasn't peaked already, the language police of Reddit would have just now tipped me over. Got stalked by the harpies of December2020babybumps. To hell with those handmaidens. Misogyneddit is such garbage. But thanks, I needed to upvote a bunch of peakers. Giving upvotes makes me feel good. Here, everyone have a happy fun smile!

The headline comes from Jezebel. What a surprise /s

[–]BEB 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Jezebel is a parody of itself.

[–]Aloudmeow 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Which is sad because I remember when it was a decent site.

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

When was that? I'm not being sarcastic - Jezebel has been Lib Fem/ TWAW since it came on my radar, so I didn't even know that at some point it was sane.

[–]Aloudmeow 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was always kind of lib fem but when it first started it worked well as a kind of news aggregator on women’s issues. Then they got heavily into the pro trans, pro kink, pro prostitution rag it is today.

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In other words, Jezebel is unreadable Men's Rights Activism tripe.

And they could have avoided it all by using "staff"...

Or workers. But where would the headpats come from, then?

Someone with a code should crosspost this on Ovarit.

The funniest part is them thinking TIFs would even want to be pregnant. As if they are even 0.00001% of pregnancies, so numerous that language must be changed for them.

[–]MezozoicGay 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (21 children)

TIFs would even want to be pregnant.

As far as I know, majority of them have irreversible damage to their reproductive system after some amount of years and increased probability of cancer and heart diseases. So even if they wanted to become pregnant - most likely they would not be able anyways.

However, all this language change is not because of TiF's it is because of TiM's: "not all women can be pregnant, so it is pregnant people". They are calling for TiF's only when they have no arguments anymore and their usual death or rape threats are not viable option in the dialogue.

[–]sisterinsomnia 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

When you say 'pregnant people' you invalidate the gender identities of all women who identify as women because they have biologically female bodies, and you turn the female body into something gender-neutral. When the female body has been made gender-neutral it becomes impossible to talk about the female biological sex and then it becomes impossible to talk about the oppression women face which is based on sex.

So something which is supposed to be 'inclusive' is actually anything but inclusive, because it invalidates the gender 'identities' of the vast majority of women and because it tries to make feminists work in the future impossible. But then 'inclusivity' comes from queer theory and never was intended to be about fairness. It is intended to destabilise and destroy the concept 'woman,' and it is succeeding. Oddly enough, it is never aimed at destabilising the concept 'man.'

I still hate word replacement insanity as well. Just say pregnant women, not pregnant people, men can't get pregnant.
