Pretty clear now why all those organizations started erasing their ties to Mermaids a few months ago.

Note, it was Jason's teacher who approached Jason's mother to suggest that Jason was trans and "we need to do something."

Reminds me of Pop Tart Kid, who was brought to a gender clinic because her religious school had a problem with her being GNC.

An 8-year-old kid comes into my practice, and this is the story with this kid: Assigned female at birth, 8 years old, was completely presenting male whatever that means—short haircut, boy’s clothes–but what was happening, is, this kid went to a very religious school and in the girls’ bathroom which is where this kid was going. People are like, “why is there a boy in the girl’s bathroom? That’s a real problem.” And so this kid was like, so that’s not super working for me, so I think that I wanna maybe enroll in school as a boy.

Doctor then proceeds to convince this 8-year-old girl that she is actually a boy, over the child's own objections.

Wow, if it comes about that the medical lobby has had some impact on the trans child phenomenon... my how corrupted all of this would be, even if in a roundabout way.

Two doctors? Or something more than that?

Even in the UK with public healthcare there are ways for doctors to get rich out of this. There is a doctor at the Tavistock clinic who also has a private practice and openly tells kids online if they don't want to spend years on the NHS waiting list they can see him privately and usually get a prescription after one appointment.

Of course in the US it's all gravy.

Yes, and the UK also has tons of entirely-private doctors and surgeons with no NHS affiliation (aka "Harley Street" docs) who do trans medicine - sometimes on contract to, or reimbursed by, the NHS.

Convicted murderer Paris Green has been reported to have gotten £80,000 worth of "gender reassignment" procedures done by a private physicians in the UK on the NHS's quid.

Huh? Are you new to this issue, or just pretending to be naive?

"whilst "gender variance" is not a "medical condition," it often requires medical treatment" That's a horrifying idea. We should never medically treat anything that's not a medical condition. People are going to get hurt over this. Children are going to get hurt over this.

Reading this also made me realize that if I were born a few years later, schools probably would have tried to trans me for being a tomboy with short hair. Growing up with two feminists I don't think it would have worked, but that's still scary to think.

Quite number of children have already been hurt by this. Jazz Jennings, Jackie Green, Keira Bell and tons more.

The Webberlys were found guilty and struck off in 2018. The BBC knew this for years and did nothing. This didn't just happen, they didn't just find out. It's bullshit ass-covering.
