This was the first play after COVID dormancy and the group had put a lot of effort into it.

This is why, IMO, the LGB, but especially the L, need to get out of lgbTQ+++ - because there is so much no-platforming and outright censorship going on that people are going to get fed up and blame the whole group, when it's the TQ gender speshals who are the ones causing trouble.

The playwright is Carolyn Gage, a renowned lesbian feminist. She's been subject to TRA censorship for years, despite making room in her work for trans identities. Nothing but total submission is acceptable to them.

I haven't seen or read Carolyn Gage's theater work, and I often disagree with her, but she is brave and insightful. She is the author of this incredibly useful essay on "game" for women undertaking careers in male-dominated environments. Here's a quote:

Trying to be one of the boys is not game. They love women who try this. They play along, laughing behind their sleeves the whole time. You will never be one of them. They will never for one second forget you are female. Own your gender and own the differences… which are significant. Men secretly respect loyalty to one’s own sex. What men approve of and what they actually respect are frequently two different things. Choose respect over approval.

They found a witch! Burn them! :P

They cry wolf at the silliest things, so I doubt any actual transphobia. What was it? Bio sex is real? Single sex spaces? Supporting JKR? Lesbians don't want dick?

Ah, this must be one of those wealthy theater groups that can eat the costs of wages and production without any problem. I'm looking forward to a full season of them cancelling all works by authors we now know to be problematical.

This group does kind of deserve to get trolled from now on. And I think you could almost do that in good conscience.

Anyone agreeing to work with them at this point must be aware of the sort of people they are, and hence is at least implicitly approving of things being pulled for wrongthink.

Therefore if we can "problematise" every single thing they try to do or show, they should only be grateful. I'd love to see if we we can achieve a cancellation combo - get 3 or more things cancelled in a row.

Either they'll learn to say "no" to the cancellation attempts, or they just deserve it.
