Maybe we should engage them more. It's useful practice. Drewiepoodle provided me with so much ammunition I've pretty much managed to steel man my arguments. To the point I could write a book about thier bull.

That's only a good idea if you're sure to win. Even people on the right side can lose an argument if they're not as good at it as their opponent. And then by attempting to engage, you've given the dude an opportunity to spread his ideas.
