I hope that lesbian is one of the lucky ones who doesn't have any pre-existing conditions, because voting for Trump might then be one of the last things she does.

And I hate Biden...

But... healthcare, food and water safety, the environment, education, an effective COVID response...

And then there's the huge psychic boost of not having an insane, capricious, grifter, wannabe dictator in the White House with his plump, unstable, fingers on the nuclear button...

I don't know. I prefer my misogyny blatant and wide open for all to see. Sneaky fuckers that sit there and try to act like their actions are the epitome of altruism and pretend to hold women up while actively doing everything possible to shit us back down again, that's betrayal.

We're just a tool for fucking votes either way. How does it come to this? Being half the population and being reamed?

The gender lobby's attack on women's rights has been exposed as the sneak, global, well-funded and well-planned attack it's turned out to be.

In the US, I think that many women my age thought that, while we didn't have full rights, we had enough to get on with our lives, careers, kids...so we were busy and asleep to what was unfolding.

Little did we know that, instead of being taught that our rights were fragile and our battles far from won, Women's Studies had become Gender Studies and younger women were being indoctrinated into Queer Theory in the universities.

Then older women who should know better, like Harris, Warren, Feinstein, Hillary Clinton, even RBG, are being made to feel foolish when they question how the "rights" of men who think they're women are suddenly more important than those of actual women. They want to feel as if they're not dinosaurs so they push their doubts aside and spout the TWAW mantra enthusiastically. It's just sad that none of them apparently have the critical thinking skills to step back and say, "Hey, wait a minute..."

So yes, we are screwed, but Trump just came out and endorsed the new KKK (Proud Boys) during the debate, so...

And he is crazy, Trump. I interacted with him decades ago and he was the same then: a flashy, amoral, narcissitic, grifter completely out for him$$self. Now he's all of the above plus some dementia issues, so having him near an atomic bomb kind of has made up my mind.

We're just a tool for fucking votes either way.

Are politicians not tools for enacting policy in the same way?

They're tools, for sure. They certainly seem to be working for someone, but it's likely just corporate interests and big money.

We need something like the Sunshine Act (US law to guard against corruption in the medical/pharmaceutical industry) pass to curtail this in the lobbying industry, and Congress would never pass such a law and deprive themselves of the enrichment. This is why the convention of states is really needed.

worked in underwriting for 2 years...

pre-existing conditions

will be all covered regardless. at worst model, rebate will be issued from Medicare, but that's a done deal.

The ACA caused group rates to go up 35% year after year for some employers we would quote rates to.

Remember that conservatives elected this as a feature, not a bug...imagine holding a mirror up to the left, a la picture of Dorian Grey. The American right has been pretty milquetoast for decades, really, e.g. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been slighted for being gay in life

But Biden actively sided with Bush and (Biden) fanatically campaigned in the Senate for the (illegal) invasion of Iraq (one of the worst wars in modern history that killed 1 million people and plunged the rest of the region into dire poverty and collapse). A war-hawk like Biden should not be “rewarded” with the Presidency for pushing one of the most disastrous wars of the 21st C.

Trump (unfortunately) is the only more or less anti-war candidate - entrusting Biden with the “nuclear button” is actually far, FAR worse. Because Biden already is a war criminal with a long pro-war record. He should have resigned after his support for the bloodbath of Iraq (an illegal invasion-war that killed, maimed, orphaned and impoverished countless women & girls). But instead Biden thinks he should be “rewarded” and be elevated to the position of President with even more military power.

It is jaw-dropping that he is the DNC nominee in 2020. As if 1 million lives meant absolutely nothing to the U.S. war machine - no one held accountable or put on trial, only “political rewards” handed out to specifically those who actively supported that war. (And everyone who voted against the war is thrown to the curb.)

I’d encourage everyone to watch a short documentary about Biden’s role in the war called “Worth The Price?”.

Trump is a criminal, but Biden is a WAR criminal which makes him far worse in my book.

She's obviously not voting for Trump out of any sense of concern for lesbian or women's rights.

What particularly makes you say that a vote for Trump is not pro-lesbian or pro-women's rights? Trump specifically ruled out any challenges to Roe v. Wade in that first debate, so I'm curious what other issues you believe to still be on the docket?

I was referring to the writer of the article. She didn't mention lesbian or women's rights even once.

I hate both Trump and Biden, and I think each would be bad for women in their own way.
