Top comment from obvious TiM: "I wish the "prefers" narrative would drop. They're somebody's regular pronouns. Saying "prefers" gives people an option to ignore them or mistreat people asking them to use different pronouns than what is assumed."

God forbid we give people an option when interacting with us or talking about us when we're not even in the room! What, we want them to be... free? With their speech? Hmm then they might realise we're full of shit!

Self-proclaimed "gender terrorist" Dakota Hendrix peaked plenty of people five years ago when he put out a video saying "my pronouns are not preferred, they're mandatory" and "this is what you ("cis" people) are going to abide by."

Dakota says "you ("cis people) are wrong" and need to " just shut the fuck up" coz "no one is female bodied, no one is born a girl," and sex being observed & recorded at birth is "an act of violence"... blah blah blah:

Note the ratio: 1.4K likes, 34K dislikes. Seems Dakota read the memoir "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" not as a tale of many missteps but as an instruction manual.

Ever notice how their pronouns are always third person? They never change the pronouns that they actually use, it's only the pronouns that you have to use to talk about them to someone else.

Like, there's no inherent reason that third person pronouns are gendered but second and first person pronouns aren't, so how come none of these MOGAI pronouns are ever first or second person? The idea of neopronouns being a right is so completely absurd. Language is, by definition, a social construct. There's no way that you actually need specific pronouns because of who you are and not the society you exist in is nonsense, there are hundreds of languages out there that your neopronouns don't exist in, are you going to get mad when a Spanish speaker "mistreats" you by using la instead of bun? How long until they start complaining about conjugations?

What if you trigger someone who is obviously presenting female with a full beard and boner? My boner is a pointy vagina how dare you gender me! I actually have to correct you? Waaahhhhh! Someone was talking about wearing a badge or arm band. Ok nazi we see you....

I believe "preferred" went out of style a few years ago because it implies being trans is a choice rather than their True Identity.

I'll use them but unless a person is stealth I will also refer to them as trans.
