Personally, I feel that the gendering of words has become a huge thing that highlights the increasing trans bullshit. In the past it was just the male and the female version of a word that was given (for example "Schauspieler/in" for "actor/actress") and then these discussions happened about how to be more "inclusive" of "other genders" and now I constantly see articles about how everyone absolutely needs to adopt the "Gendersternchen" (example: "Schauspieler*in").

I'm making a point of not using this and I firmly stick to male and female only. A good reason I read about for not using the "*" is that it puts women behind the "other genders" even though we're at least 50% of all humans and thus way more people than the "other genders".

OP, you've used this here as well by saying "trans*". I suggest you stop using this because it's a construct introduced precisely to imply that there are more than 2 sexes.

I used the * to indicate that the entire thing encompasses not just transsexuals, but also transgender, AGP, and transvestites. That is how I so far have the * seen being used in English (which is what I have been writing here mostly).

In German I tend to resort to either the generic gender or the correct gender for an individual. I don't do the whole over-PC blah blah ;)

Okay, makes sense. The problem is that the "trans*" thing has been adopted by those people themselves in an attempt to be "inclusive" (I hate this word...) and they're enforcing the use of it themselves, so that leaves a bitter aftertaste.
