Very blacklist vibes. "Are you now, or have you ever been a believer in biological sex?"

It's a cult.

Hard-core religious cults have similar lists of pure and unpure people/content.

IMDB is another company owned by Amazon.

This is by a user, though, not the editors.

[–]MarkTwainiac 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Huh? I don't understand.

[–]worried19 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I wasn't sure if you thought it was an official list. It's just by a random user, not endorsed or created by the site. Thank goodness for small favors, I guess.

[–]MarkTwainiac 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

OK, thanks for clarifying. The OP title's says "IMDB has a BEWARE the TERF list" which I took to mean IMDB drew up & published the list. A user posting a list on the site is a different story.

[–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

It came up when I was searching IMDB for information on someone who has been outspoken on gender ideology. Suddenly the "Beware the Terf" list was on the right side of the page.

Worried19 - do you know how it got there?

Do you think IMDB linked to a "Beware the Terf" list because I was looking for information on a "TERF" and so IMDB thought that I needed to know to beware of TERFs, in case I might be encouraged into Wrong Think about gender ideology?

So crazy that an innocent web search on a movie database becomes an opportunity to indoctrinate. I do feel that IMDB is involved in some way.

[–]worried19 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I don't know much about IMDB. I know they have user lists, but they also have editor lists, like the official ones where they tell you what's coming up on Netflix. I'm guessing it was probably some search algorithm that brought up the TERF one, since you had been searching for the word previously.

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I wasn't searching IMDB for "TERF" or any word: I was only looking for information on a person who ended up being on the "Beware the Terf" list.

The Beware the Terf list came up on the side of my screen on its own, taking up about a 1/4 of the screen so it was very prominent. I'm thinking that IMDB software must have deliberately linked the Beware the Terf list because I had searched for someone who was on it.

But why that list and not another one, like "People who love to flyfish"? I think that searching for someone who some random IMDB poster put on a TERF list brings up that list is creepy, gender ideology propaganda in some way supported by IMDB.

[–]worried19 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Gotcha. Yeah, if you search for a person, it will show you what lists those people have been added to.

As I said, I don't know much about the site. I don't doubt if you wrote them about something they'd be pro-gender, but I truly doubt anything nefarious was orchestrated by the site in regards to this particular list.

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It would be the alogorithyms (sp?) right? But my point is that rather than showing another list that would be connected to the person I searched for, like that the person is on a list such as "These Famous People Are Knitters" the Beware of TERFs list came up.

Given all the other corporate endorsements of gender ideology and also that it's an entertainment industry-related publication, I would not be surprised if IMDB deliberately linked that list. I think I might complain. If nothing else, TERF is a slur.

[–]worried19 10 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I never even heard about half these people. What did they allegedly do?

[–]hfxB0oyA 20 insightful - 3 fun20 insightful - 2 fun21 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Thought for themselves. It's verboten now; didn't you get the memo?

Nina Hagen is GC?

[–]MarkTwainiac 16 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 0 fun17 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Yes, Nina Hagen is an official patron of the Detrans Advocacy Network, since March of this year:

Go Nina fuckin' Hagen!!

[–]BewitchedSam 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Thank you for the info!!! I think calling her a TERF is a bit of a stretch if she's just supporting detransitioners but it's TRAs so...

[–]MarkTwainiac 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm her age, and the feminism we grew up with (second wave) was sex-based feminism, which is inherently GC. Simply believing that biological sex exists these days is enough to get you branded a "TERF," which doesn't really describe anyone accurately anyways. But I imagine Nina Hagen is quite staunchly feminist in the way that would be called GC or "radical" today. She's apparently good friends with Alice Schwarzer.

[–]RiverSong 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That makes sense.

I remember seeing someone with a similar name commenting on trans-related posts and sharing info about detransitioning and the damage that T does to young girls and women. Turned out it was the real Nina Hagen, and I was in awe! :)

I reported it for inappropriate content and hate speech.

I am also reporting the user.

Good idea! Come on, ladies, let's report it.

Let them really BEWARE THE TERF.

[–]ascom 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I reported it too and it has now gone. Got a signed email from them thanking me for reaching out

Great work! Thank you, all!

They forgot Rupert Everett.

I assume Cleese is on there due to his participation in the anti-trans scene in the movie "Monty Python's Life of Brian" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFBOQzSk14c

[–]BEB[S] 13 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

John Cleese has actually made GC-ish comments on Twitter recently too.

[–]Tikiri 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nina Hagen is a GODDESS‼️👏🏽

[–]Oof_Too_Humid 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Kind of funny to see so many men labeled as radical feminists.

[–]BEB[S] 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I'm pretty sure that Rogan and Chapelle at least know that they're considered TERFs and neither give a shit. Gervais will say something super-Terfy on his Twitter then backtrack. Shatner is too old to give a shit. Same with Cleese, it seems.

I think the hidden powers behind Trans, Inc. are extremely PR savvy, but your average transgender activist is a mess in terms of PR. I mean, their nonstop death threats and dick picks in women's bathrooms just don't play well with normies yet they're too dense to realize it.

[–]Oof_Too_Humid 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Very good points and very accurate. First time I've seen the term "Trans, Inc.". I like it. You are so right about them being PR savvy. I think they're also very knowledgable about how the back corridors of power work--we've certainly seen how they've piggybacked "gender" onto multiple laws and statutes before anyone realized what was happening. We've seen their ideology become incorporated into government agency rules and corporate boards. They sure know how to advance their cause on multiple fronts.

My main point was that, unlike "liberal-feminists", radical feminists do NOT accept the idea that men can be feminists. Radical feminists believe that ONLY women can be feminists. So for these dopes to call men TERFs highlights how little they know or care about the labels they throw around.

[–]ANIKAHirsch 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I thought you were mocking them with that headline...

No, that's actually what they chose.

[–]eddyelric 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Dave Chappelle?! That man isn't even politically correct, nevermind a feminist!

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In an older (2017?) standup routine, Dave Chappelle kind of made the trans-racial transgender comparison. He has talked about transgenders a lot in his routines, and even though he does it somewhat gingerly, I get the impression that Chappelle isn't buying into gender ideology and thinks that TIMs are a bit nuts.

[–]MarkTwainiac 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, Chapelle is not PC or feminist. But he's funny and sure has got the number of a lot of people. In his most recent comedy special, he's incisively on point about the relationship(s) and tension(s) between/amongst the G, the L, and B - and the completely awkward relationship they/we all have with the T.
