That is a very confused person with an eating disorder, among other issues...

Chemical proof!

Seriously, are DIYing hormones a normal thing now? That's what this sounds like, and it doesn't seem they're getting any pushback. This is a mental and physical-health trainwreck.

Yes. DIY hormones is a thing. Many genderfluid/NB people are into microdosing hormones to androgynize themselves.

It's body modding. Punks, goths, alternative people generally have been doing body mods for years. Trans is basically just the new alternative style. It's not like teens can rebel or express themselves by being goth or punk, their parents were probably goth or punk. Their parents probably have some tats or piercings left over from the 80s. No, to really act out, have to step it up.

Huh, doesn't this have adverse health consequences though? I know that not having any hormones in your body (being on blockers) can mess your body up, but wouldn't being in micro-doses have a similar affect? I thought that the body needed enough of one hormone or the other in order to function.

Yes, hormones are the new recreational drugs.

It pains me to read things like this. This poor woman has such deep mental problems that she thinks are due to "trans-ness" that she's completely ignored all her physical problems too. This is so unhealthy.

"I'm not cis though..." Well heaven forbid. Is anyone helping this girl with her eating disorder amidst all this crap. I think there is a central issue there.

I can't. It's too leftist. Someone tl;dr this for me.

Person hates their body, so person lost enough weight that their shoulders are wider than their hips. Person stopped menstruating. Instead of addressing weight loss, or other hormone issues doctors prescribe progesterone which causes PMS. So person comes to the conclusion their anorexia and and reaction to progesterone means they're trans.

I couldn't make head nor tails - or perhaps I should say shoulders or hips - out of this person's account, either. Though I did get what you say, that this a person who "hates their body" & is anorectic. But are this person's shoulders really wider than their hips? Or is that just the person's distorted perception?

It's outlandish that doctors are Rx'ing progesterone & other potent exogenous hormones that are compatible with patients' biological sex willy-nilly as though these are the answer to body-image & identity issues & other mental health conditions... It's even more outrageous that physicians are Rx'ing cross-sex hormones for trans & enbies , & calling this "HRT".

Post-menopausal women nowadays can't get true HRT prescribed even for legit medical reasons like chronic UTIs, vaginal atrophy & pelvic pain coz after the research on the dangers of HRT for women that was published in 2000-2002, the medical profession decided whatever benefits HRT offers post-meno females, the health risks are far greater.

Seems like there are just more & more double standards - & women always get the short end, especially women who are "old," who are always on the bottom-most rung.

Good summary - you can add on the terror of being considered 'cis' to this as they might mean they are not as special as they originally thought.

Instead of addressing weight loss, or other hormone issues doctors prescribe progesterone

There are far too many health care professionals who, once you focus your attention on them, appear to hate people/women.

They have body dysmorphia and become anorexic as a way of dealing with it. Doctors deal with amenorrhea with hormones instead of telling her to eat, tldr she thinks she's trans instead of eating disordered.

Remember when people thought they were or should be the other sex? No one thought they were "trans".

Welp, lady hormones make me so sick that I can't take the pill at any dosage, I had morning sickness so bad I was debilitated for 18 weeks, but was just shy of being diagnosed with hyperemesis, and I get a fun kick out of the tiny dose of T I get when I lifts weights so I guess that makes me a man now. So confuse plz advice.

Or MAYBE having a flesh body just ain't no fun sometimes and that's just the way it is?

Just wow. I am stunned. This poor girl with an obvious eating disorder suffered as a result of her mental health condition and was failed by a medical system that eventually pushed her down a road to using illegal anabolic steroids. That is where we are now. TRA's are celebrating kids doping and shooting up in the locker room. OF COURSE T makes you feel great the first few times, you're a terribly stressed out teen and T is a potent stress modulator. It's potent at a LOT of things. It will make that heart of yours big and strong! Well, mostly big. Hypertrophy, they call it. Good way to die young.
