I agree with you, but this assumes that the establishment media could be trusted to stick their neck out and report on these issues reponsibly by safeguarding the girl's identity and hold the courts to account. Unfortunately these judges use publication bans and legal force to save themselves embarrassment over bad rulings, and the lazy media complies.

If it's not actually the judge but the law itself that's failing this girl, then that needs to be publicly debated and changed for the good of all abused children. I'd rather not know who the girl is, but she potentially represents the case of so many. If it's this egregious in her case, how many more are too easily ignored?

You might have heard of the case in BC, Canada where a father was prevented from dissuading his 14-year old daughter from taking testosterone before she's an adult. The judge issued a publication ban so none of the specifics of the case could be discussed, and the father was forbidden to speak to the media about the court's decision to side with the daughter's wishes. Nobody was aware that this could happen to their own children, so it was an important case to discuss openly. The only way he got some of his parental rights back was by breaking the law and speaking about it.
