I’m so sorry you were mistreated like that. I’m sure it felt like a betrayal of trust, especially since you were in a vulnerable position and the psychiatrist is supposed to have your best interests at heart.

I think more people would agree with you here than you think, especially with the idea of feeling discomfort around your body and the way people perceive it based on the expectations and pressure put on people of your sex. I was just an observer over at the gender critical subreddit, but it seemed like there were quite a few GCers there who were supportive of the detrans community and felt compassion and empathy for their pain and confusion.

With the recent GC subreddit ban and all the news regarding the erosion of women’s rights and opportunities, I think a lot of women here are just scared or angry, especially when misogynistic TIMs appear to have more support than half of the population. It doesn’t help that even the most nuanced of arguments, such as J.k. Rowling’s essay, are met with vitriol and cries of “Terf!”

I’m not the best person to speak regarding this because I’m new to the community and feminism. I would like to learn more about radical feminism and establish a good base of knowledge, rather than focusing on reactionary trans ideology posts. I was thinking it might be good to start an online book club to read about and discuss feminism. Do you think that would be a good idea?
