Of course some would wonder if the kidney failure and high rates of cancer could have any relation to hormone "therapy" and medicalization.

The author was dead a year after writing this.

No one seems to care about the consequences of putting healthy teenagers and young adults on testosterone and what it will mean to run a female body on male hormones for 6 or 7 decades. Will they even live that long? Doesn't seem like anybody in the medical establishment gives a damn.

Geez. The older TiF tells the querent "not to sweat it" after acknowledging that TiFs seem to die so young. Where is the responsibility in this community??

This is eugenics.

Yeah, just another way to kill off natal females.

I don't necessarily blame Kailey. Doctors are telling trans men that medical transition is safe, that they have the same risk a natal male would have on testosterone. Clearly that's not the case.

From what I have read, trans men overall have the same life expectancy as non-trans men, which is slightly shorter than for women.

"From what I have read." Source? The evidence for that is zero. I don't doubt Kailey read it, but who is giving out that information? If doctors are telling trans men they can expect to live the lifespan of an average man, where the hell are they getting that data?

I'm sure Kailey didn't think he, too, would be dead shortly.

OMG, that is shocking. Thank you for posting that. In that piece, Matt Kailey tells young TIFs "don't sweat" about the dangers of having life cut short by T. And like you said, a year later Kailey was dead at 59. Which is 25 years earlier than the expected female lifespan (which in the US for a white female born the year Kailey was = 84 on average). What's more, Kailey died of heart failure. Women generally are at half the risk of dying of heart failure than men. But when women take exogenous T at the doses/levels that TIFs customarily do, their risk of heart failure & CVD goes up four times so they are two times more likely to die of heart failure than males are.

To top it off, Kailey churned out work minimizing the impact of exogenous T on female bodies. The title of one of her books was "Just Add Hormones."

Kailey's death was sudden. I wonder if he had known he would die so soon, if he would have had regrets.

Also notable is the fact that Kailey didn't get on testosterone until age 42. That was 17 years, much shorter than the length of time young transitioners can expect to be on hormones. I find it impossible that these children are not going to have drastically shortened lifespans, and no one will give a damn until it's too late.

I know of one who died a few months ago, friend of a friend. Massive cancer and organ failure. Early 50s. Too young in my opinion.

Of course it's way too young. I'm not surprised. And here doctors are putting 12 year olds on testosterone for life and telling them it's perfectly safe.

Buck Angel has been very honest about the dangers of medical transition. Maybe he would be interested in tweeting about this issue.
