My friend loves this woman, and spoke a lot about her to me.

Isn't she wanted to be a woman-doctor in Latin America at first, but when it became an impossible task, she was forced to stay being "a man" in fear of prison?

And we should not forget that her changes in hospitals which lessened deth rates by 50%, her hygiene practices, and her achievements in caesarean section were all dismissed when world realized she was a woman. And then 50 or more years later man "invented" those things.

Recently one russian pop-science channel did a video about her (and called by her born name): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dRrm9Jdqmw

Interesting that most comments are GC and are sad because of "Imagine how many geniuses humanity lost because those people were born with 'wrong' skin color, sex, orientation, nationality?".

FYI, the book is still being published, but there are already numerous 1 star reviews from people claiming it's "transphobic" to say James Barry was female.

The Cape Doctor

I would, but I don't have an account there.

They've done the same thing to J.K. Rowling's The Ickabog. They're not giving reviews of the book, just slamming her for being "transphobic."
