In the 1960s, John Money introduced the terms gender identity, gender role, sexual orientation and popularized the term paraphilia.

John Money was involved with the involuntary sex-reassignment of the child David Reimer, he forced this child and his brother to simulate sex acts which John Money photographed, leading to the adult suicides of both brothers.

In the 1960s, John Money published "Transsexualism and Sex Reassignment", which helped bring more acceptance to sexual reassignment surgery and transgender individuals.

Next time someone tells you "educate yourself on trans rights",

Tell them about John Money, the founder of the modern transgender & gender identity movement. Are you sure that the ideas of trangenderism come from a good place?

The Reimer story was beyond suspicious.

There were identical twins and one had his penis cauterised off in an 'accident'. Thus providing Money with not only a subject but a 'control' subject.

He lied his ass off and said Joan was a happy little girl and happy to be a girl, playing with feminine toys.

As an adult John said this was bull and he never liked girls toys, makeup dresses or anything else feminine. He wanted to play with his twins toys. From the moment his parents cracked and told him, he would only answer to John, and dressed as a boy.

Money also tried to pressure the child into full SRS.

One of the big names in GD treatment described how Money was asked to leave a medical centre for treating intersex and GD kids after trying to get parents to get SRS on an infant that obviously had a minor delay in penile development that resolved in a couple of weeks.

Man had an ideology to push and wanted to be the big name in the field. Outright lied and traumatized and attempted to surgically mutilate kids to make his name.

God knows how many little kids got carved up because of Money's fraudulent claims that 'Joan' was proof gender identity was learned.

It’s important to note a couple things about John Money:

  1. TRAs occasionally cite him and the Reiner case as “proof” that we have “male brains and female brains”.

  2. Money did more than just encourage Reimer to wear dresses and play with dolls. He encouraged the female role as a submissive one, up to and including “sex play” involving Reimer and his brother, with Reimer in a passive, receptive role and his brother in the overpowering “male” role. Money did believe that gender roles were solely the result of socialization, but seemed to associate feminization with submissiveness and meekness to a point that we would likely consider humiliating. It is no wonder that Reimer found the experience unpleasant. Money constantly emphasized his role as female = nurturer, caregiver, doormat, gentle, loves pretty things, etc. and was firm that he remain strictly within that role, as well as stressing that his brother should be held up as masculine = tough, in charge, etc.

The David Reimer case is kind of a Rorschach test. Gender ideologues will argue it 'proves' that gender identity is innate and immutable, hence David's 'detransition'. I don't know what it really proves, other than the unscrupulousness and amorality of certain actors in the medical community.
