I'm not ever going to be a fan of stuff like this. Imagine if this was used to encourage slapping a Terf. We have thoughtful and logical arguments.

It's a common meme template, it's not actually encouraging any sort of slapping.

It has been used by the other side already, multiple times. It's been used by various groups who are never accused of endorsing violence for using it - unless they're feminists I guess.

For the record, I agree with you in principle, just exhausted by constantly hearing that we need to be the better person and never say anything mean or violent and we're never given the same courtesy by the TRAs.

I hear that and I've been thinking about this for the last few hours. I definitely have some Earth Goddess, creators of life and all things good nonsense in my thinking and that's not helpful. My main complaint is that a reasoned, logical argument with evidence to back it up doesn't count for anything in this struggle. I don't respect any TRA tactics. I hate what they do with threats of violence. I do believe they want to hurt us physically. I'm very upset that we can't talk about our rights using the ways that used to work. I was also wrong to try and police your voices. I'm really struggling to figure out how to get my point across. I think they might be exactly like a cult.

I don't think it's wrong to question if we might be moving away from rationality and if something constitutes a threat of violence. Questioning in good faith is a way of moderating both sides. But I hear your frustration with TRAs and their tactics, and that was where my initial response was, too. It's hard, maybe tedious, to keep wanting to do the right thing when you see how terrible the debate is. After a while one wonders what the point is, and whether it will change anything anyway. I certainly hope it does, I don't want to live in a TRA world. And it's definitely a cult.

I made a big deal at work 2 weeks ago that I absolutely refuse to count Transwomen as women in our data. I got thrown off the team and then got reinstated on the team. It was a bunch of cowards and crazies. My argument was that it doesn't make logical sense to count a person that was educated as a man, hired as a man and got promotions as a man as a woman. It's just going to dilute our data. It's been a nightmare ever since that day. But today 8 women wrote a letter questioning our support of Transwomen in Women's Sport. There is a meeting on Monday to talk it through. I will be at that meeting. I was called a TERF at work and it has damaged my reputation. When I see threats against TERFs it makes me feel afraid to speak. I don't find it lighthearted or funny at all. Everyone gets to say what they want to say. If I need freedom so does everyone else.

Sorry that happened, truly. It's a lonely place to be the only one willing to speak the truth and have integrity, and the ones who do are so often punished for it. Good that there's pushback with sports at least, and maybe those 8 women were encouraged by the fact that you spoke up? Every time someone does it makes it easier for everyone else.

It is not a coincidence. They know what happened to me. As soon as the letter came out my boss asked if I was responsible. I told her that our women are in real danger because they are writing it down and emailing it. I'm on holiday and I wish I never had to go back.
