Sadly, most of this, especially with regard to Native Americans, is a spurious history, largely made up in the 1990s, and projected backwards to fill a void left by the systematic destruction of Native American cultures. It's virtually impossible to know much at all about these identities from the past, and it's pretty much impossible to understand how they fit into a cultural context prior to European contact.

Native American cultures are not an homogenized mass. There are over 500 tribes in the US alone. TRAs and lefties like to pretend they all have the same culture, same religion, same beliefs, etc... It's insulting. "Two-spirit" or whatever he was calling it was only practiced by a handful of tribes. It was not common or accepted.

The man from India didn't mention how the "sacred gender" is treated or viewed in their society. They are hired to work as entertainers for weddings and other events but are treated like outcasts and of a very low caste. Many are homeless or close to it because of how they are viewed.
