FINALLY some sanity. If all trans people were like this, it would be all so damn peaceful. It's amazing how as soon as the trans cult sees ANYONE disagreeing with them, regardless of the person being trans or not, they IMMEDIATELY try to discredit their identity: "That’s a lot of yikes right there. If we’re in the business of gate keeping trans people and utilizing straw mans, are you sure you’re actually trans and not a cross dresser?"

Everyone's valid, AS LONG AS you agree with me uwu /s

I'm currently cautious about going "oh this is sane" in case I find some false logic in that post. I haven't yet. The guy sounds like he just wants to live as a woman (which sounds so stereotypical, and yet there's some truth to it), and he has dysphoria and knows that men will never be women and he seems to respect basic human biology. If I ever met him in real life he'd probably be that one trans I'd be happy to be friends with. He just wants to look feminine, be regarded as a female and knows he never will be. I found the same comment you found on reddit too. This guy knows he has a mental illness, but knows denying reality isn't going to solve anything, so he's transitioning while aware that he's still a man who just wants to have female features and be socially recognised as a "she". I'm somewhat happy to support that, but still a tad offended by his want to be a woman and be socially recognised as one, but if it's a case with dysphoria where you really want to distance yourself from your own body, it can help to transition.

I am curious though would he still want to be socially and legally recognised as a woman in Saudi Arabia or in other female oppressing countries? Would he feel fine being called a "he" after his transition? (I don't plan to ask him, I'm just expressing my thoughts on this type of person).

Edit: Added something

I don't know about that guy in particular, but I have heard that there are TiMs in Saudi Arabia too.

Almost certainly gay men who have been more or less forced into it because the alternative is death. Generally speaking you get more AGPs among transwomen in more "permissive" societies where women and gay people aren't directly oppressed by the legal system, and more HSTS in societies where they are.

I think you're thinking of Iran. I don't think Saudi Arabia makes any additional leeway for TiMs than for other homosexuals, whereas Iran has a law that homosexuality is illegal but transsexuality (with surgeries etc.) is allowed.

No, I'm thinking of a documented cross-cultural trend. I don't have specific information about Saudi Arabia - if you do, please link.

This is who I thought I was allying with when I considered myself a trans ally. This is who I thought all trans people were.

But even on the inside, this is who this "nice" trans person was:

we would tell each other that truth and logic don’t matter and that as trans women we’re more important than “cis” women. Truth is I was jealous of women and hated myself.

He sounds genuinely dysphoric and not AGP, and the type that a lot of trans people would call "truscum." I'm glad he got past the most toxic aspects of trans culture, and hope he's finding some peace.

I appreciate this opinion. Why not be in your own group? I can't with these Buffalo Bates motherfuckers who are not like this person.

I would take a woman on a deserted island, any woman, even if she spoke a language so unlike mine we'd have to work our shit out for years, over any male who spoke English.

It's not the job of the tim in the post, but I wish these statements would go one step further and say, hey, if it's a small constant awareness, or an overwhelming one due to trauma, women fear what men do. That would be truly empathizing with women. If you don't, then get away from us and stop trying to claim you're a woman.

The message is like "we're our own people, women don't want us invading their space." It's like those news articles that lead with "Woman Raped." Well by whom? WHY don't women want you in their protected spaces? Just think a little step further guys. Is it because women, most of whom in the world are heterosexual, many many having children with males...are we all just bigots?

This is a liberal admission, but not a radical one. He makes all his points in the foreground, where he assumes the reader resides. I think what he’s doing is admitting all he can in order to hang on to what’s really essential to him--something he wants no one to question or take from him. But this idea that he can remove himself from the real world and be a woman only for himself is shortsighted. He may be viewed as a dissenter within trans, but within the scope of sexual politics, he is no dissenter, but a rather a proponent of gender. He doesn’t even begin to question gender itself, dysphoria, or his identity presumption, which may not be “I am a woman” but is “I pass as a woman because I feel like one,” any different in the final analysis? Once again the “not all trans men are...”

That is a very accurate analysis. I wish it was upvoted more. I have been continously going back to read it for several months due to its accuracy.
