I understand what you are saying but even with being a feminist my whole life I just can't say that someone would be the most competent just because they are the same sex as me. Especially when we are discussing it like this, talking about some interchangeable woman instead of an individual. I don't want a female leader like this. I don't need women to be thrown a bone. If black women want this bone just for a token candidate that's nice I guess, but I can't respect that and I don't want that demeaning shit. I don't want pathetic affirmative action for women. Like you said, we had a huge diversity of candidates before and that's great to see. That's the only way I want a woman to win. Pandering suggests we can't do it.

Also there more you force X kind of people, the more flack they will get for being forced. Like I said I think in the end Biden's way is ultimately setting up women for failure not himself. My question was what do you think about Biden announcing his pick in such a manner. I don't doubt women are capable. I just hate how we are being set up to be seen as weaker token picks that need this.

Women will always get shit and viewed negatively for breaking barriers. I legitimately don't care at all what men think. I dont see myself thru their lens anymore (thanks to radical feminism).

I watched that debate. I watched two old white men, one who half the time cant keep their words straight and the other who answered every question with the same exact stump speech. I knew that one of these men were going to be up against Trump and Pence. When Biden said his VP would be a woman, I thought good. I also thought this woman would be vetted so hard, she would be the most competent person on the ticket, and I thought that was sad bc its so easy for mediocre white men to coast, while women have to be twice as good. That's how I felt.

I actually have a lot of angry feminist ranting related to this...but I dont want to derail the thread.
