But the general theme of the book (not the movie) was that the scientists didn’t in fact create dinosaurs, they created monsters that were nothing like their ancestors and because they filled missing DNA sequences with animal dna that were only tangentially related to them, it meant those creatures behaved in unpredictable ways. The reason for choosing females only was to control the population. That way the animals couldn’t breed. But the velociraptors that had frog DNA changed sex and started breeding. In other words nature found a way. The thing is though, it’s easier for females to change sex, since you still need a womb to breed. I do wonder had all the animals been male would the sex change happen?
