My sister asked me to be a surrogate and was offended when I absolutely refused. This is the same sister that asked me to not abort a pregnancy at 19 and give the baby to her. I have a 9 year old and I still haven't recovered emotionally, physically or financially from the process of making a human. It's actually a big fucking deal.

So wait, during that time she hasn't adopted or had a baby? She's so unbelievably selfish. Plus, what would that child be to you? Your son/daughter/niece/nephew?

Apparently, she's super concerned about being genetically related. Today my kid puked all over my new white sheets and the coffee table and somehow managed to get some down the slats of the radiator. Motherhood is more puke and less fantasy earth goddess.

It was actually because of this sub that I decided against surrogacy.

I have a medical condition that would make pregnancy very, very hard for me, but not dangerous to the baby. I had a ton of outside pressure to use a surrogate-my doctor, family, and friends all pushed for me to do it. Then I began reading into it more-the massive health risks for the mother, the horrible predatory surrogacy agencies, and the effect on her family. I told my husband that we're not doing that, so we're exploring either adoption or trying naturally.
