this tends to be true for women (TIF), not so much for men (TIM). Tims are largely AGP. Tifs are mostly either masculine women, or confused teenage girls that are suffering under the weight of misogyny and think they can transition out of oppression.

Gay TIMs were the original TIMs, and if you were to ask someone on the street they would say TIMs are gay men

Since "transsexualism" first became a thing in the 1950s and 1960s, the majority of TIMs - including those who had genital surgeries - have always been heterosexual men, many of them fathers with long or multiple marriages under their belts just like so many of today's prominent, influential TIMs such as Bruce Caitlyn Jenner (father of six), Ronan Morgane Oger (father of two), James Jennifer Pritzker (father of three) and James Jennifer Finney Boylan (father of two, one or both of whom are now TIMs themselves, funny that).

Back in the 1960s and 70s, for every famous male-attracted TIM like Christine Jorgensen and well-known gay transvestite like Candy Darling, there were plenty of straight, married or previously married men who had fathered children like UK historian and writer James Jan Morris (father of five) and US physician and tennis player Richard Raskin/Renee Richards (father of one) getting "sex reassignment surgeries" in Europe, Morocco and the USA. And back then as always, there were many more straight males who cross dressed, albeit usually in private, than there were gay male transvestites - though the gay male transvestites might have been more visible and thus gave the impression of being greater in number.

When Ray Blanchard did his research on TIMs in the USA in the 70s and 80s, he found that 75% of them were heterosexual men motivated by AGP, and only 25% were homosexual men (with our without "feminine" traits) motivated by internalized homophobia and an exclusive attraction to straight men (though back then some of these gay men were observed to have AGP or elements of it too). Today, Blanchard and Michael Bailey estimate the proportion of TIMs who are het men with AGP is upwards of 80%.

Jenn Smith, a 56-year-old bi male from Canada who has been trans-identified his whole life - and whom all the TRAs hate because he is honest and an outspoken foe of trans ideology and especially the transing of kids and the invasion of men into female spaces - says that in his experience the percentage of TIMs today who are straight men is far higher. Also, whereas trans organizations like the Williams Institute admit that only 10% of TIMs have had or plan to have any sort of genital surgery, Smith says the real figure for TIMs is less than 1.5%.

Janice Raymond's 1979 book "The Transsexual Empire" gives some valuable historical perspective; it's available for free on her website.

Also worth reading are Michael Bailey's "The Man Who Would Become Queen," "Men Trapped In Men's Bodies: Narratives of Autogynephilic Transsexaulism" by Anne Lawrence (a sexologist TIM who is AGP), and artist Grayson Perry's books about his own cross-dressing and the sexual thrills heterosexual men like him get out of it.

TIMs have been trying to force their way into women's and lesbian spaces and demanding that they be regarded not just as women but as lesbians since the 1970s. Now that any man can claim to be a woman simply by self-declaration, many more men are doing this today, and they're doing it in a way that's so loud and obnoxious it's hard to miss. But trans-identified males of all sexual orientations trying to push their way into all women's spaces, wanting and demanding recognition as as "real women" and as lesbians, and trying to force the whole world to play along with their fantasies is definitely not a brand-new trend. Because TIMs are an expression of male narcissism, libertinism and supremacy - and male narcissism, libertinism and supremacy have been around for ages.

Richard Raskin/Renee Richards sued US women's tennis governing bodies for the right to play female professional tennis in 1976-77 and won! So what we're witnessing today has been going on a very long time.

Wow! Thank you for that explanation. I’ve only interacted with gay TIMs irl. I think the public perception is that these men are straight, and therefore not a threat to women’s spaces. Also that somehow they really were “born in the wrong body” due to homophobia.the fact that they’re straight really should be publicized.
