Couldn't read. Too much transdoublethink.

It really was. What bothered me was that it had BOTH women that lived completely as men and women that dressed as men because of their occupation. Also even if these women completely identified as men; they were still female which is one of the reasons their lives ARE remarkable. There is no reason to think too that they lived as men to survive. IT is beyond arrogant to act like you know for a fact that they were men.

It's incredibly arrogant that they trans the dead all the time now. There are so many reasons to put on male clothing if you live in a society with a strictly gendered dress code. Survival, camouflage, professional attainments, joining the military, marrying your sweetheart, not getting raped, the list goes on and on.

This is more trivial but they love to turn strong female characters into men too. It drives me crazy. i was told though that it is ok because trans men need role models.

And this happens even in newly created media too. When "allies" want to add "strong woman", they are just replacing man with woman actress or 3D-model. Leaving everything else written for man role. Or what happened recently, with that transgender actor - "role was written to woman, but now with transgender on this role, role can be more alive and realistic". I mean - if you do not know how to write woman, just ask woman to help you with that, no? Instead of "I can understand transwoman better as we both male, so transwoman are better than woman".

In recent scandalous game TLOU2 main problem with Abby is that she is using male-NPC movement scheme, male-NPC animations, male-NPC dialogues. It seems like there was some male for most of the development, and somewhere near the end they decided "lets change this character to muscular woman, to get woke points from society!", and they changed character but left everything else meant for man. Or there can be even worse case, and that case if they were not developing that role for man, and just thinking that "strong female character" is just woman who is man in everything but looks. Neil Druckmann could just call real woman to help him with writing female character, instead of "I think they act and think like that" (actually this sounds how new wave transgenders act "I think I know how women think, and it seems I think the same way, so I am woman too").

Apparently, that is what happened to Ripley in Alien, she was supposed to be a man, but then the director decided to cast Signora Weaver and viola a legendary character was born. But, that worked because she is a real person and not an animation. What you described sounds really, really lazy on the animators part.

Yeah, and now they are using feminism and LGBT as a shield from any critics. Game was mediocre at best, with bad storytelling, and fans waited good game like first TLOU. So fans started bashing Neil and other developers, and he (and other male developers) is answering to critics who criticizing game: "You are just hating women, you are homophobes or transphobes too". One more stupid thing there is that they "wanted to make game where men and women more equal" and because of that - most enemies and soldiers are women (or even pregnant women, there two pregnant women died, one with hands of player), and whole game we are brutally killing and torturing women (because most enemies are women). Amazing "feminism" he have there.

They recently claimed Jennie Hodgers and James Barry as trans men and are threatening people who say they were women.

The author has been branded a TERF and activists have tried to get her book cancelled.

Doesn't take much!

[–]questioningtw[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is stupid; no one has any idea what they thought of their gender identity or gender roles and being transgender didn't even really exist then anyway.

What gives therm the right to harrass an author until the publishing company submits? Don't like the book? Don't read it. They also tried to cancel a book called Gender Hurts as well, but thankfully they didn't succeed.

This is very upsetting. They're literally erasing gender nonconforming women from history.

If I'd had the misfortune to have been born female in that era, I would have disguised myself as a man and headed west, too.

Honestly, I think I would have too. I hate wearing dresses with a passion and I would have loved to have been a blacksmith or something. I am honestly suprised they didn't say Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane were trans in tht article eyeroll

Give it time. An afternoon to research a few random names on important women in history within Google and I'm sure a spreadsheet will be established.

Oh with the way they are going, i wouldn't be surprised if Marie Curie and Grace Hopper were obviously really non binary!

[–]MezozoicGay 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

they called themselves with male names, so they were transmen

Those authours would be surprised, but even J.K. Rowling took male name and surname for her first books (and later for crime fiction books, so those are taken seriously). And you know why? Because with female name no one would even consider looking at her books and publishing. And for her crime fiction books to be taken seriously. I guess now JKR is transmen too? According to this article logic. So this means that those TRA who are attacking her - are just transphobic! Hehe.

And same happened in history gazillion of times. If woman wanted to do ANYTHING the only way was is to pretend that she is a man (or to have a lot of money left from dead husband). They were still woman, they were not thinking they are man, they just had no other choice.

I guess the Bronte sisters. Alice Sheldon , Louisa May Alcott, and George Eliot were really all men! I hate how they never acknowledge how society was even MORE misogynistic and oppressive or women then it is now!

[–]Thatstealthygal 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The Bronte sisters must all have been dudes as well, right?
