Thank you so much for sharing here. Im so glad you were able to find a therapist that wasnt biased. I think this is going to be a major issue in the future I read so many stories in detrans about how easy it was to have one appt with a therapist and be prescribed HRT.

It's just becoming easier and easier. A friend of mine didn't want to be objectified by men anymore. She looked up "trans-friendly" GPs and was prescribed testosterone at her first appointment simply because she said, "I'd be happier if I transitioned."

Just heart-breaking that girls decide the best way to beat the patriarchy is join the patriarchy and abuse their own bodies.

That egg_irl "solve all problems and be happy if you just take 100 mg of some drugs" is a bit too close to home, as in 1990th my cousin died to exactly that. He was hooked by some fake psychiatrist, who said will help with depression and anxiety, and with his sexuality (cousin was bi-sexual and was afraid of it), and start giving some drugs which in reality were not midicine but addictive drugs, and cousin just got addicted and died on one of the psychiatrist sessions from overdose. Psychiatrist then run away to other country, and was never caught. Those subreddits sounds literally like that masquaraded drug dealer.

I am glad that you was able to return to normal and realize yourself and your views better.

I am so sorry for your loss. Gah that phrase feels so trite, but what an awful thing to happen to your cousin.

Hey, thanks for sharing your story. I’m so glad you got your life sorted out, your therapist sounds like a real gem.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad to hear that you got off those hormones before more damage was done, but that still must have been a scary ordeal. How is your mental and physical health now?

Your therapist sounds excellent and sadly a good/bad therapist makes all the difference. I think your story also shows why the orthodoxy is to avoid TERFs, not listen to a word they say, and not allowing people to come to their own conclusions.

Also, the idea that transDIY exists as a subreddit is horrifying. I've never been there, but based on what you said, how is that not more harmful than places like Gender Critical or debate subs like GCDebatesQT?

I'm so sorry that you were duped like that and that you were in any way encouraged in doing something so dangerous. I understand the pain and desperation you felt and how wonderful it feels to come across something that so many other people tell you is the ultimate cure. You weren't stupid for believing it: we're all here because we accepted the TRA bs ourselves, though obviously some of us were outright victimized before learning better.

I'm so glad that you won't have any longstanding health problems and that you are on track to get to the root of it all. Thank you for sharing with us!

r/egg_irl and the other trans subreddits are a grooming tool for young people in hard places in their life, it offers them a perfect solution to their problems and all they need to do is take the magic cancer pill.

It's a cult.

I was raised in one, and it's easy for me to spot.

Thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry you had to go through that - but at least this story had a pleasant ending. Very happy to hear you managed to get proper help on time.

Baiting and luring people with mental illnesses (especially young people!) is vile and unethical, yet it seems the hardcore (who am I kidding, even the "softcore") TRA ideologists are allowed to groom vulnerable people with impunity. They were oh, so smart to start riding the super woke wave in order to infiltrate and colonize every genuinely female/gay/trans space. Then they started warping reality and here we are, in a world where women are not women but men are, and nothing bloody makes sense anymore.

Time will come when they have to answer for their actions - but knowing the kind of people they are (vIcTimS!!1!) I fear they will get out of it without accepting any real responsibility, and even worse, they'll find a way to pin it on women and feminists.

Side note - isn't it kinda funny that the word victim has the word TiM in it also? Mwah.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am honoured that I contributed to saving your liver. It is so easy for young people to get sucked in.

This is absolutely horrifying. I am SO glad you got out of that - I can’t even express in words how happy I am that you are free of that mindset. The fact that this kind of grooming is not even addressed in the media is, in my opinion, a violation of children’s and young people’s human rights.

Thank you for coming here and being so brave and honest.

Good for you for going to therapy, and not one who would immediately affirm you. Therapy should challenge a person, and if it’s easy all the time with simple solutions to complex issues — it’s not actually therapy. As a result, you won’t have to suffer the emotional and physical problems hormones and surgeries cause. I hope everything in your life is smoother sailing going forward!

My comment may not be correct in your specific case, but it's factual, in general. I've spent a ton of time researching the endocrine system. I've read literally hundreds of published medical studies and tens of thousands of forum posts on the subject. Sorry for the giant disclaimer, but I want to pass on some info that is important for everyone to know. It's regarding OPs improved mood in the beginning.

As far as taking estrogens (specifically E2/estradiol) people OFTEN report improved mood and health when initially taking it. A lot of the improved health and mood of guys going on TRT in the beginning is from the increase in E2 levels. In the beginning only. When E2 levels are out of range on either side (or even the highs and lows of the "normal" range) people feel terrible. I've had low E2 before and life was miserable. Horrible fatigue, depression, and joint pain. So when TiMs report immediately feeling better when going on E, it's from the likelihood that they had low E to begin with. Often from having low T. T is converted to E via aromatase and when T is low, E is low almost always. Then. TiMs go out of range for their sex and start turning into everything we get to experience. No longer happy. Full of hate for everyone. Blaming their new emotions on transphobia. This last part is my take, but the other stuff is supported thoroughly with user experiences and studies. This is also the experience of steroid and TRT patients who don't start taking aromatase inhibitors when E2 spikes after a couple weeks. We know this as roid rage. Unstable emotions from unnaturally high E2, coupled with the violent aggression of high T. Fun stuff. What baffles me is how little endocrinological analysis is done for people looking to transition. Sometimes absolutely zero.

The one TiM (and "lesbian") I personally know, went through this exact same cycle. Got on E, was happy as hell, then suddenly became the office tyrant. No one wants to talk to him anymore. He is bitter and starts conflict over pretty much anything. Fortunately I relocated and he's not part of my life other than through communication channels occasionally. Everyone still complains about him to me though.

Long ass post to just say that HRT for TiMs commonly start as a positive experience before going negative. Just like what OP experienced.

Anyways, OP, I'm happy to hear you are doing well now.

I've recently witnessed a person who is not too close, but who I appreciate very much and care about, get sucked in. I don't know what will happen to them but I'm appalled that her therapist has been granting her access to sex change while she has never brought up any of these issues until like two years ago despite having close trans friends (who aren't TRAs) I advised her to get a second opinion and she just refuses for fear of losing access to hormones and stuff. She now keeps posting about TR all the time and seems even more anxious than before because now it seems all she does is think of the awful lives of trans people... Like... Damn ! I'm glad one was saved.

They should be penalized in US court for grooming children for sexual purposes, and recommending illegaly obtained drugs to children/minors.

You KNOW these scuzzy mods are willing to facilitate pedophilia on their subs.

The issue is that its a collective like antifa and that's hard to police.

[–]queerone 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

r/TransDIY should be banned for actively encouraging black market pharmaceuticals and improper dosages -- not to mention misleading/grooming young and vulnerable people via r/egg_irl and all the other toxic trans subs.

Thank you for sharing your story! I'm very glad you were able to find a capable therapist to help you reclaim yourself.

If these drugs made your liver shut down, and you were jaundiced within two weeks, you need to report to the FDA.

[–]72ndGender 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

These were likely not legitimate drugs that went through our FDA. Many online pharmacies sell counterfeit pills and the foreign stuff, even if made my American companies, don't have to go through FDA clearance. Either way, these meds can be absolute garbage, and many of them are methylated compounds which destroy our livers. Not to mention the impurities from poor lab processes. Garage labs often.

[–]WinoRhino 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

So, maybe, still report them. You know, so the FDA and the CDC and WHO can track that shit.

[–]72ndGender 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Oh, definitely worth reporting. Especially the site itself.

[–]WinoRhino 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Ah, I see what you are trying to say, now. I like that you were pointing out that off-market drugs shouldn't be trusted. It hits home to me a little bit because my family is a medical and pharmaceutical one. But, yes, we need to point out when, "drugs are bad, mmmkay". I am sorry if I went off on you.

Edit: not "if" I did.

No worries, friend. Cheers!
