Jesus wept. That's a lovely seed you planted there. There is a thread on the moms site (not comfortable on this site & don't want to send even more trolls) that discusses anecdotal evidence that lockdown may have give girls some breathing room. Many have gone back to their old name & pronouns. One report of a young TIF buying women's clothing.

Some hope perhaps.

Thanks. I know the thread and won't reference it either and as an aunt it gives me hope.

They're putting "non binary" kids on lupron now? It's getting more dystopian every year. This poor generation. I'm so sorry for your niece and glad she has you.

Yep. She started as lesbian for a day, then trans for a few weeks, then got a period so became enby and went on lupron to stop that, now off lupron still enby but having possible menstrual cramps which her mom calls "lower pains"... Lupron is marketed to give kids a chance to decide about puberty. Such bullshit.

Thank you

I love that kid so much, she is so similar to me when I was a kid.

I just watch the detrans sub (did when it was up, what the hell taking that down) and hope there are resources for her when she comes out of it.

Just FYI, r/detrans is back up!

😍 I. Freaking. Love. Snakes. 🐍🐍🐍 (Okay, just had to get that out of my system. Also, there's only one kind of poisonous snake in my region, so, all good.)

I hope your niece finds her way, and I hope your brother can open up to all the dimensions of those memories. . .

WTAF is it with tomboys, wild girls, and all of this tracking them into "being" something other than a girl? All credit to my parents, I was a wild child. We had pet snakes, lizards, fish, cats, dogs, the whole menagerie. Running around outside in the dirt with the other girls (!) and boys I grew up with was "normal."

I'm a grown-ass woman now, and I still squee over snakes in the garden, handle and visit with them, get dirty, etc. So do two of my closest grown-ass woman friends. None of us are trans or nb or whatever.

I mourn for all the lost Peppermint Pattys being re-tooled into something else. I really, truly hope your niece comes through all of this okay, and brilliantly herself.

You are me. Scrounged in the dirt, climbed rocks, ran around barefoot on the mud. Climbed trees and read comic books... I had a pulley system in my Nana's tree out back where I had a tree house and made my cousins pulley comics and snacks up to me.

You are me, I still mess around with snakes and let ants check my arm out and follow dragonflies.

Thank you, I really hope she will be okay

Edit I miss this about GC thanks for being here

That's me and my cousin who ran the pulley if he and I were kids now. Thank you!!!! Edit a typo

I'm in my mid 30s and I will track and catch a lizard in a fucking dress (that I've worn biking shorts underneath anyway because I "sit like a man").

Good grief. It takes so little for these folks to get all caught up in that crazy shit. If they would just take a minute and think beyond the propaganda they're fed.

Hahaha I wear biker shorts under dresses too, same reasoning (haven't caught lizards lately but bc I can't sit "ladylike")!

Brother thinks his daughter (sigh, "kid"...) will kill "themself" if I call her by her name or "she".

The thing is, I've known my brother his whole life. He's sooooooooo suggestible. I keep kicking myself for not seeing this coming. I could have possibly inoculated him against it.

Thank you

I'm so grateful that when I had identity struggles due to being a tomboy, that the internet was not how it is now, and I was able to work through my feelings about myself in a healthy way.

It's dangerous that kids are being given hormone drugs?! Endocrinology is so delicate and complicated, this makes me really worried for the future

If you have city farms or riding schools, take her (& bro) if you can find the feeding/cleaning times. Women tossing haybales & straw like its nothing is impressive. (I can barely carry one)

Haha didn't realize that would be something that might encourage little girls struggling with womanhood. Of course I endorse any excuse to see horses, lol! And yeah, I'm pretty good at wrangling 90 lb haybales, though I always joke I should train the horses to do it for me.

I used to climb on the roof of our house from a second floor window... Still a girl.
