Activism in some pretty exceptional circumstances.

Okay, so I want to start DOING STUFF next year. Thinking peaking people at uni. But it’s GOT TO BE ANON as it could really wreck my chances of going further in academia. My plan is a poster/sticker campaign with use of QR codes for links. But I’ve got to keep this really secretive. Here’s why.

I go to a pretty woke UK uni (use the term ‘menstuarators’ and female leagues are now ‘female and NB’). Next year I’m in a house with a TIM (they’ve been in Spain in the last year (while I’ve gone from TRA to full blown TERF) and a wokebro. Like REALLY WOKE. The third housemate is a lass who quietly agrees but I don’t want to drag her into it. I’m willing to make my life a little hellish but not someone else’s. Any ideas to keep my activism secret? Or any good peaking resources for QR codes?

Is there not a way to switch houses there? I'm not sure how things work in the UK.

Wayyy too late. Would be unlikely to get a house. Also paid the deposit so nope. Also, dare say any other student house would be on the woke side- not as bad as mine but it’d still be an issue. And no way I can afford a flat on my own.

My kid avoided the traditional woke student household by living with only international students (mostly from China).

Right, so I reckon you should start by finding your local ReSisters. Look on twitter for $AREA ReSisters and see what is going on locally. Also check for meetings by WPUK and the likes in the vicinity and go to them and meet women there. There's a lot of feminist activism bubbling under the surface but due to fears of TRA harassment (and it can be career-endingly serious) it's all very hush-hush. You need to build relationships first.

Is it only student housing that's available or is it more expensive outside of that with flatmates that aren't necessarily in school? I'm asking because it's something you'll need to address sooner than later even if you decide to stay for now.

As far as activism that you can do quietly, you can start writing letters and make sure to vote where you can. Address the letters from your parents' house to keep from anything coming back to you.

I can’t afford anything outside of student housing. The lease I’m in is for a year (but I’m not there Aug, Sept, Dec, half of Mar/Apr, Jul.)For now, I’m ok as I’m at home in rural Wales. So I’m planning. Will definitely write more letters/emails. I’ll set up an anon email.

Get some stickers, and sticker the shit out of your campus.

Can you put QR codes on stickers? Use the radfem symbol or too provocative?
